They finally leave you two alone

After awhile Mira and Mara leave, after Mara has finished bandaging each of your wounds and even giving both of you rudimentary clothing; the rain has even seemed to stop temporarily. The pair heading into the structure that they gathered supplies from, going in as a man goes around the village yelling--

"--Shian ver sumber!" He repeats, running from structure to structure.

Hearing that everyone reacts the same; they head into a structure and head into various cloth wrapped structures in each building. Each seems to have different ornate patterns, one inside and one outside, one blue one red; with a plain-looking one between the two layers. You don't know what to make of it, watching as the village is seemingly abandoned except for the occasional lightly clothed male or female walking around with a spear. Some women on the edge of your vision finish up with washing something in a tub. Before heading in, just the same as the others. Maybe they are heading in for the "night," you think, would make sense.

You watch as a strong-looking man with a spear leaves, leaving you for the first time alone with Haruka.

"Haruka," you whisper trying to get her attention, "Haruka."

"Uh, yeah," she asks nervously, quiet as a mouse.

Previously either Mira or Mara would try to stop any communication between you two. Mara would bind you mouths for a time when it was her watch, while Mira would be a bit more ruthless. Many times you made the mistake of thinking the woman in front of you was Mara only to see Mira's scar the moment she turned around; leading you to receive a blow somewhere on your body.

"I think they turned in for the night," you quietly tell her, unsure if they can hear you in the nearby structure.

"Did you see Eve?" You ask.

"No, do you think they did something happened to her?" She asks, worried; her and Eve got close during your time on the escape pod.

"No, I doubt they could have done anything to hurt her," you say trying to sooth Haruka.

You really don't know if they could have, but it is better to keep her calm; it is the only way you are getting out of this situation.

"She must have left the pod looking for help, when these people found us," you tell Haruka.

"Yeah," Haruka says, hesitantly agreeing with you.

You hear movement next to you, looking you find an almost naked woman painted with stripes of white and blue paint. She carries a large spear whose purpose is quite evident to you. You look at Haruka letting her know you need to be quiet. She stares nervously at you while you turn back slowly watching the woman meander past a couple structures; out of earshot. You quickly turn back to Haruka.

"Are your bindings loose at all?" You ask, trying to think of a way out of here.

You watch as she pulls on the bindings; however, it doesn't budge. The pole doesn't even move, planted firmly in the ground.

"No," she says, you can tell in her eyes she is scared.

"Haruka, look at me, I'll find a way out of this; just try to stay calm," you try to reach her.

She looks at you, beginning to slowly breathe in and out, trying to calm herself down. You begin to think, the bindings are too tight to weaken. Maybe I can do something with the stake? You think you know your hand is on the outside of some cold metal if I still have it and that is not the stake.

"Haruka," you try to ask, yet the woman is panicking.

You then hear another person walking towards you, think god for her panicking, you tell yourself, We would have been caught for sure. You watch as between you passes a little girl, she looks to be young maybe four or five, she has a slightly darker completion than Mira and Mara with blacker hair, but a similar hair type; what you would call frizzy. She seems to be skipping along playing with kind of doll in her hands, humming a strange tune.

"Vera!" You hear yelled from across the village.

"Yeth?" The little girl answers she has a slight childish lisp.

"Kamin to muje, aln!" The voice calls back, you can tell it is a woman's voice, you guess her mother.

Watching as the girl skips away, you turn back to Haruka.

"Haruka, do I still have my prosthetic arm?" You ask her, this time she seems less panicked.

Maybe seeing that child calmed her down; maybe it humanized your captives a little bit; whatever it was you are thankful, as now she can answer your question.

"Uh, yeah, why?" She asks.

"Because I have a plan," you tell her.
