For a moment you just stand there frozen, rooted to the floor. Shocked. You can’t believe what you just heard. You can't believe Miranda just told you to toss Nicole back to Tom when you just stopped him from **** her. Didn't she see what was about to happen?! Where you just so wrong about her? And Tom... he was still going after Nicole.

You pull Nicole in tighter has you face Tom, fist clenched. "NO! You just don't get it do you! Nobody's going to touch her! You’re not touching her! Get out of here!"

You look down at Nicole, her right hand now resting on your chest. Although she's calmed down since you rescued her you still see that she is nervous. Looking at her she raised her hand to cup you face, you see hope and fear in her eyes. At that moment you realize, she still has that childhood crush on you after all these years, and that you would never let anything in the world hurt her again. Placing your hand on hers’ you know you couldn't be without her.

Now you just have to leave without getting into a fight.

You glance over at the group again and then back at Nicole, softly you say "Yeah... She's mine... she always was..."

Turning back to the group "look guys.. we're leaving... have fun."

You can see the shock on everyone's face.

"OH great!" says Matt, "You got Miranda, now Nicole. Wanna go for Sarah too and get the whole set?"

You shake your head, you really can't believe what you're hearing and how everything just went sideways so fast. Looking around you see that your clothes are close by... but Nicole's are on the other sofa... behind Tom and Matt.

"Wait one." you say to Nicole has you separate from her. "We're going home."

"Go to the bathroom upstairs to change. I'll take the rest to you in a minute." you tell her. She nods and just says "okay" before turning around and running up the stairs.

She looks at you for a moment "And play second fiddle to... her?" she says, that last word dripping with acid. "Sorry, but I'm nobody’s backup girl." she adds crossing her arms again.

You feel another punch to the gut, not knowing what to say you just nod and go up the stairs to the bathroom.
