Check if her powers work on other people

"For now we wan't to know your state. You go out into the hallway and try to use your powers on someone. If it works you can get to business right now. If not we just wait and come back after PE."

"I- What if my powers don't work?"

"Just get out. We'll have your back."

She was grabbed by her arms. She screamed to make them let her go, but shut up as soon as the door opened. There they paraded her out of the hall towards the gymnasium. In there she saw most girls of her class already doing a warming up. Guys surrounded her, actually covering most of her visible skin. She could see past them, but it was likely that if someone looked at the group she would be barely visible.

"You see Monica over there? I want you to make her scream "Banana!" out of nowhere. You think you can do that?"

"I can..." she said.

She tried. Boys looked at her, but she knew it had been in vain. Her powers worked on nobody.

"They work on nobody." James concluded. "Blackdekker, why don't you go talk to Monica and see if she has the same memories of Natalie as we do right now."

Pete set out into the sports hall while the boys dragged Natalie back into the dressing room.
