Into the breach we go

I walked up to the fort and studying it felt an sharp sensation burn in my eyes, there I could see the root directly in front of me four guards were sat next to the fire so following the illuminated path climbed up the wall and over the top I signalled for the wolf to create the distraction before killing the nearest guard with the hidden blade that didn't fit the period at all, it was definitely more modern so how it got in Greece was a factor I couldn't understand. I sneaked across the wall before jumping off and **** the guard slid in through the nearest window to judge the surrounding area saw the guards chase after my wolf which had killed two of the guards and started to run off with them in pursuit. From the illuminated path I could see that in the next building surrounded by three guards who were standing over her and I had to kill two more guards, I killed the first before whistling to the guard slid the blade into his throat. I climbed up the ladder and seeing the bleeding woman spit at the guards it became clear, these weren't ordinary guards, their helmets were all silver and custom made, their shields weren't round either and it's then when I realised it was Cultist's and sneaking up I saw in a chest this object shine similar to mine, I could feel the attraction to it, so as they continued the beating I pulled it out after cautiously lifting the lid grabbed the object which looked like, no was a broken spear, it glowed in my hand and feeling the object pull me towards the guards I stabbed the first in the neck before digging the spear into the seconds back pulled it to dodge the final one's swing stabbed him in the side before throwing him from the top floor to the floor and judging me Kassandra spoke, "Who are you?" I leant down and cutting the binds to her arms said, "We can sort that out after!" she looked down before undoing her feet binds she stood up and grabbed the nearest guards sword and agreeing said, "Yes you're right! Spear please!" I studied it before laughing studied the glowing object to Kassandra's jealousness, "This?" she nodded holding her hand out and nodding placed it down in her hand before grabbing my spare bow handed it to her, "You'll need it!" she took it before stopping said, "Darius' blade?!? No, this is different!" I flicked the my wrist before looking over to her bare body apart for some thin pieces of cloth spoke, "What about some clothing? or armour?" she shrugged before climbing down the ladder snapped, "We haven't got time for that!"

I nodded before jumping down walked out of the barn to see the Cultist guards of twenty, maybe thirty standing their blocking our exit and looking over to Kassandra who drew her spear and sword I drew my sword that illuminated the whole fort held it up to aim it at them, "Ready?" she smirked and smiling saw her rush up and lifting her spear up slammed it in a downwards motion sending them tumbling down and smiling I engaged the first before feeling the motion that I could slow down the guards strike to Kassandra's shock and kill the first with the blade, I felt a unnatural burst of speed to kill the next three and as time returned to normal as I engaged five guard you could hear the four guards body hit the ground before ducking his swing of an heavy axe sliced him in half with the sword but it was more of a burn that cut him in half not so much the sharpness and looking over there I could see Kassandra swipes someone's legs from them in a Hero strike and killing them before using my bow to cover her took the next three out before redrawing my sword once more slammed down into the nearest guard which caused the nearest guards to be sent backwards into the wall ****, "That is a powerful weapon!" Kassandra snapped Sparta kicking the guard back into my waiting hidden blade before throwing the body into the next guard saw Kassandra leap into the air and slam her spear through the person's skull and covering her bare back once more took the guard out.

As we fought the others started to wake and launching my sword up again I heard a sharp twang of metal hit the ground and seeing Kassandra's spear land not far away, "Kassandra!" I threw my sword over to her whilst picking her spear up, "Let's see what you can really do!" I commented seeing Kassandra wield it and sending another blast out. I used the spear and ducking the first swing swung it across the guards chest cut leaving a sharp cut before kicking the other one back for what looked like twenty maybe even thirty metres finished him off with my bow before grabbing spear once bull rushed the remaining one's on my side. I turned around and seeing the brute remaining saw Kassandra land strike into his knee before kicking towards me which was met by me landing a striking with the spear to his chest and falling towards Kassandra she stabbed him in the other knee as he slumped to them and running I leapt into the air to slam the spear into his bald head as Kassandra stabbed him his chest. I felt like a god with either of the weapons, we were like superheroes, we superheroes who kill for a living but as I pulled out her spear and she pulled out my sword, we nervously smiled at each other, "I think this is yours Kassandra!" I smiled before mistakenly touching the end of my hand stopped before quickly retracting it shaking her and smiling I took my sword off her and sheathed it, "You Tainted bastards!" the guard snapped and turning around I smiled as my wolf leapt onto his back and started bite into it until he move no more causing the wolf to walk up cautiously to us whilst I petted it and Kassandra was met by a bird landing on her arm, "I'm fine, see!" she spoke smiling at her eagle, "Who are you and what do you want? How come you can use my spear? how did you get those weapons including Darius' blade? And why would a mercenary help another mercenary?" I looked around at the fort before saying, "Well that's a problem... I don't know!" and glaring at me she snapped, "Let's get out here to my camp, maybe the walk will help you think straight!" grabbing her spear tightly and nodding I said, "I hope it does too!"
