Around the campfire

Once the boys got back with the wood, they quickly got a fire built. Chloe returned with Meagan, Caitlin, and Leon. With so many people they formed a pretty big circle around the fire as everyone ate and chatted. After eating, Chloe revealed she'd packed the last of the beer from the fridge and began passing them out. She settled back down next to Meagan and Caitlin and looked at her friend. She sipped her beer and smiled sweetly. "So...how did you two become a couple."

Caitlin blushed again, but Meagan squeezed her hand and gave Chloe a smile back. "I caught her checking me out in the locker room." The story seemed to further embarrass Caitlin and she took a long drink from her beer. Meagan just chuckled. "I confronted her about it and she tried to deny it until I pinned her against a locker and kissed her."

"And now you two can barely keep your hands off each other," Leon smirked at his sister, causing her to glare at him and Meagan to blush.

"So how come you never told me you liked girls?" Chloe asked.

"Oh, I just...I didn't know what you'd think," Meagan stammered. "I didn't want you to stop liking me."

"Who doesn't like lesbians?" Kurt was already on his second beer. Heather frowned at him and smacked the back of his head.

Chloe shook her head at Kurt but turned her attention back to Meagan. "Well now I know and I'm still your friend. So there."

Meagan smiled and they shifted back to idle chatting. Zack put his arm around Chloe and tried to join the conversation. Madison sat next to him and realized she was staring at an empty beer can. She'd sat across from Brandon so as not to be next to him but she now realized this only meant if she looked straight she would be staring right at him. She shook her head and asked someone to pass her another beer. Brandon watched Madison out of the corner of his eye while he chatted with Ashley and Heather. He wondered at how close she was sitting to Zack. His friend seemed completely oblivious to it and he worried that she was setting herself up for failure given Zack's relationship with Chloe.

"Well then you should go find out who it is," Ashley's voice interrupted his thoughts.

Brandon tried to come back to the conversation. "Who who is?"

"Who my dad is hooking up with," Heather answered. She appeared to be pondering the idea. "I don't want to go by myself though. It's dark and I don't want to get lost by myself." She eyed Kurt.

"Don't look at me," Kurt started shifting away from his cousin. "I have no desire to peep on Uncle Rob."

"Please, Kurt," Heather put on a pouty face. "You'd let your poor cousin wander the dark woods all by herself?"

"Yup," Kurt cracked open another beer.

"Fine," Heather scanned the ring of people. Brandon was clearly lost in whatever thoughts were clouding his mind and while Ashley was a good friend, Heather doubted she'd be reliable in the dark. Victoria and Gavin were making goo goo eyes at each other. No help there. Madison also seemed lost in thought. Her eyes settled on Zack. He seemed to be just listening to Chloe chat with her friends. "Zack!" He jumped at her voice and almost dropped his beer. "Be a dear and help me get back across the lake so I can find out why it was so important my dad get the cabin to himself."

"Uh..." Zack looked to Chloe for help.

Chloe smirked and patted his hand. "He's all yours Heather." She leaned in and whispered to Zack, "I want to catch up with Meagan. But remember what your mom said." A mischievous smile spread across her face. "Tell me if anything interesting happens."

Zack blinked at his girlfriend. Did she just say what I think she did? Chloe just continued to smile and then turned back to her conversation with Meagan. Heather was already moving so Zack stumbled up and hurried after her.
