In a fantasy

Dani woke up with a head pounding from last night's drinking. As she blinked her eyes, she saw the note Spencer had left for her:

'Dear Sleeping Beauty

My daughter left her phone at her friend's house so if I'm not here, I'm picking it up. Don't make breakfast/lunch as I'll get it for you.

With a smile, she decided to lay back on the bed for a while, before putting her nightgown and getting a coffee. When she entered the living room, she saw Spencer sitting down on the couch.

"Hey Spence."

"Hey Sleepy. Still a bit hungover?"

"Yeah, but better."

"Well, lunch is in the microwave. I'll make you a coffee."

"You're the best Spencer."

"That's why you're here."

She smiled as she turned the microwave on. Once her lunch was ready, she sat down on the couch and ate. Once she was finished, Spencer put his arm around Danielle, and said "So, this how you imagined retired life being?"

"Living in a castle with my hunky prince?" She looked Spencer in the eye. "Pure fantasy."

He kissed her forehead as Dani continued to rest on Spencer with a smile. Ever since her previous partner had cheated on her, the idea of being in another serious relationship was pure fantasy, but for the first time in years, she again believed that such a thing could become reality. Even Amy seemed to accept her as part of her life, despite having lost her mother. Spending the night living with the two seemed so natural it was like it was meant to be.
