Best of friends.

Maggie considers the options on the table. Maggie looks at the helpless Tanya sitting in the seat with her legs spread. She was hurt, but she really did miss having her as a best friend. She wondered if it could ever be like before they started high school. "Of everything we've discussed what option do you feel best about?"

Kyle's smile brightened. "Honestly, I be happy if she was just nicer to us. You know if she was genuinely our friend."

Maggie nods. "And less like Whitney and McKenzie?"

"Definitely. Like if she was into the things we're into."

"Okay. Let's do that." She turns back toward Tanya who's a mixture of relieved and horrified. On one hand, it could be much worse, on the other hand, she can't imagine losing her social status.

"Right," Maggie says, "let's hope this works. Tanya, you'll forget this interrogation ever happened including any conversation you heard during it." Tanya's panic subsides as she forgets about the very recent revelation that she has to do everything people say. "You arrived at Kyle's, we started building your Shadowrun character, but, uh, we got caught up in conversation about how much we love roleplaying games, so now we're waiting for Josh and Minh before we finish your character. Oh, and you don't want to kiss us anymore. in fact, you won't remember you ever did, but we're your best friends and you don't want to hang out with anyone except for the four of us: Josh, Kyle, Minh, and me."

"Awww," Kyle whines, "did you have to cancel out the kissing?"

Maggie winks at him. "Just for now."

Tanya feels the need to kiss Kyle and Maggie, her two besties, start to fade from her mind.

"Oh," Maggie continues, "you recently discovered that you're into the same music as me and like all of the bands I like. You have a disdain for mainstream music. You also recently realized you're into horror and sci-fi movies. You want me to help you become a cosplayer. You find sports to be super boring, oh, except for roller derby, you're interested in possibly playing some day. Uh, and..." she looks at Kyle "anything to add?"

"...yeah, and you like comics but you don't know much about them so you want to get advice from me on what to read. And you're just discovering video games. Oh, and you're into...um...um..." The doorbell rings.

"I'll go let them in but ask them to stay downstairs for a minute. You go ahead and finish telling her what she's into. I'll come back up and we can close the loop before letting them upstairs.

Maggie climbs down the stairs and out of view. Kyle, left alone, bites his lip thinking about what else he'd want his perfect girlfriend to be into.
