Sarah’s mind starts working…

‘I suppose a tasteful, highbrow shoot might be one way through this.’ You can almost see Sarah drafting the press release in her head. ‘When they go low, we go high? Or… Emma Watson fights back against misogynist hackers? Explodes body-shaming conventions? Refuses to be intimidated in the face of ****?’

‘Yeah,’ you say with sudden feeling, ‘that’s it. You can spin this. I mean, not spin, but… yeah. That could work.’

Beside you, Emma nods silently.

‘Oh, and there’s, ah…’ She coughs, looking slightly unsure. ‘There’s something of an ace in the hole we haven’t told you about. Emma Stone may have offered to, well…’

Sarah’s eyebrows shoot up so far they disappear into her hairline.

‘Don’t tell me. Dear God. Well.’

‘She’s calling it an apology,’ Emma says hurriedly. ‘But I’ve asked and asked her, and I really think she’s happy to do it. This isn’t out of guilt or anything. It’s two women standing together. United.’

‘Hashtag free the nipple,’ you add, tongue-in-cheek. Emma rolls her eyes, but nods.

‘Something like that. Either way, it’ll clear the front page… right? Just while these leaks get buried in the news cycle. I mean, they can’t actually print them, anyway…’

Sarah nods slowly. ‘Oh, it’ll clear the front page. Especially once we draft up a press package or two.’

Then she shoots you an appraising look. ‘And what does the boyfriend think about all this? Just so we don’t have any unpleasant surprises later on.’

Emma turns to you, looking unsure. ‘James… is fine with it, aren’t you? I mean…’ She blushes slightly. ‘No, I won’t speak for you, sorry. I’d feel really weird if this was you posing for some magazine. Please tell us what you think.’
