Silver Lake

A few minutes later, the entire group was heading down the short path to Silver Lake, minus Gavin and Chloe, who had stayed at the cabin, and Brandon and Ashley, who had gone on ahead. Most of the girls had towels wrapped around their swimsuits or had covered it with tank tops and jean shorts, like Madison and Meagan; only Heather, Sharon and Hannah hadn't covered themselves, giving the guys a very nice show as they walked. A show that Kurt enjoyed very much from his spot behind everyone.

Since Victoria was talking to the girls ahead and his closest friends decided to stay behind, Zack remained silent, prompting Trent to try and make some conversation.

"Why so glum, dude?" the football player inquired. If they were going to be roommates for a week, he wanted to get to know Brandon's friend.

Zachary sighed. "Maybe I'll tell you later, or someday, or never."

"Whoa! Chill, man!" Trent retorted, surprised at the gratuitous hostility. "Whatever you're angry about, don't take it out on the others, you know?"

Zack felt a little ashamed for his outburst. "Shit, you're right, I'm sorry, you don't have anything to do with it," he told the other boy while keeping his gaze on the group of girls a few feet ahead of them. "It's just that, well, something I've been planning for a while didn't pan out today."

Trent followed the other boy's gaze and chuckled. "Ah, so that's the issue. I take that you wanted to share with one of them?" he asked and Zack embarrassingly nodded. "Don't worry, man, you've got the whole week."

Zack turned to the linebacker with a raised eyebrow. "Aren't you gonna ask who?"

Trent shrugged. 'Well, I figure you're gonna tell me later, or someday."

The two boys then shared a laugh, Zack was surprised with Trent, he only knew him as Brandon's loud, obnoxious friend and teammate, but it seemed he was wrong in his assessment.

Soon, the group arrived at the small beach that encircled the borders of Silver Lake and they started dropping towels, clothes, and things that wouldn't be needed in the water as they joined Brandon and Ashley, who were swimming already. Deciding to think for a little while longer, Zack plopped down on the sand to watch. Trent surprised him again by joining him and Madison stayed behind as well.

"You two are gonna stay here?" the brunette girl asked.

"Yeah, driving all the way from Azure Rocks so early got me a bit tired," Zack said, it wasn't exactly a lie since he had indeed gotten a little tired.

"I'm gonna stay with you guys a little bit, then," Madison said, quickly changing her plans to spend more time with Zack. "Not in the mood for the chicken game that will no doubt happen sooner or later."

Madison then turned her back to Zack and pulled her black tank top over her head. His eyes slightly widened in surprise. Wow, she has a really nice body, he thought, looking at her slender, nearly bare back and the long fit legs sticking out from the jean shorts, which was the next article of clothing she discarded, giving her crush an unobstructed view of her toned ass clad in a crimson-red bikini. Zack couldn't tear his eyes away, he never really noticed his friend's twin before, what with his attention always on Victoria or Hannah.

Trent looked down at his feet, he knew Madison was gorgeous, but he never could bring himself to think of her as hot, always seeing her as the sister he never had. It was exactly because of that close friendship that he knew Madison usually didn't strip in front of guys like that, causing him to reach a conclusion that made the corner of his lips curl up. Hmm, so she has feelings for good old Zack? he surmised. The way his mouth is agape, the thought is crossing his head too, I know it. I better leave them alone and see what happens, maybe she can get him in a better mood, he thought, muttering a silent apology to Brandon as he stood up, seeing as he definitely didn't subscribe to the male Cole twin's idea that he had to protect his sister from horny guys at all costs. Only from the bad ones, buddy, Trent mentally added before smiling at his two companions. "Alright, I'm gonna hit the water, see you later."

Madison waved at her brother's old friend and turned to Zack with a grin. "So, Zack, what are your plans for this trip?"
