Miss: Golondrina doesn't want to join Minerval

You and Golondrina sit in a window seat in a little alcove up and round the corner from Boarbristle's Great Hall.

"I don't really like Minerval," Golondrina says. "I like you, I like Fay. If you were all like that, like you two are, well, I'd think about it. But from what you told me about the Tutor..." She shakes her head. "I suppose you and Fay can shake that sort of thing off. I couldn't. And the things the House is good at, well, I don't know that I'm that interested."

There's some laughter and shouting outside the window. Two green-robed figures riding brooms swoop by.

You sniff. "Hot-shot riders from Draconis," you say. "They always get away with that sort of thing. Leontes would get caught out. Beavertail wouldn't try. Minerval would be sneakier."

Golondrina gives you a shy smile. "I want to be with you and Fay," she says. "But I can't go to Minerval, really. I mean, I don't know, do you think we'd be happier together in another House?"

"Beavertail?" you say. "They collect all the sob sisters."

Golondrina laughs. "I'm sure they don't think of themselves that way," she says.

You say, "Anyway, I couldn't hack it in Draconis. I'm neither popular nor political, and Leontes, well, dueling and big gestures aren't my strong suit. So we keep things as they are, or we get us all into Beavertail somehow."

Golondrina smiles. "With Mistress Melonboobs?"

"I'm surprised at you!" you say. "Who've you been talking with? Fay?"

Golondrina laughs. "They call her that in Leontes, too. Housemistress Beeblossom is rather obvious in displaying her assets."

You laugh. "Competing with the Headmistress," you say. You lean closer and whisper. "Headmistress has extra nipples down her front. Got that from Fay."

"That's all right for a witch, isn't it?" Golondrina says.

You whisper again. "Or a PIG."

Golondrina laughs. "Oh, stop it, Morgan," she says. She shakes her head.

You settle down and talk about what to do, since you're not going to join Leontes, and Lolo isn't going to join Minerval.

• Owe Golondrina a favor (a new GOAL) to get you, Golondrina, and Fay into House Beavertail. You will need to save 5 XP for yourself. Fay will follow you when you change Houses. Take up the GOAL to get Golondrina into House Beavertail, a -2 GOAL on Ambition. In the meantime, you may take a study goal from Leontes' Tutor, Preston Sharper, or another instructor or House member. The Warden, your HANGER-ON, might step in to assign you a GOAL. All your carryings-on with Lolo might cause you to need remedial work. Choose your next Move or introduce a new plot complication.
