"Do you still want to do it?" you ask Fay. "Get Lolo into Minerval? After all the trouble we've had between Torch and Hawk?"

Fay sighs and snuggles back against you, the soft pale skin of her back rubbing up against your bare breasts and belly. "I want Lolo," she says. She lowers her voice to a whisper. "Golondrina Dragoncunt."

You hug Fay from behind, looking over her shoulder at your reflections in the dressing table mirror. One witch, blonde-haired with a round sweet face. Fay Applebum, your lover. One witch, with long unruly dark hair and a worried look on her narrow, long-nosed face. Yourself, Morgan Woodbine.

"Is this our anniversary?" you ask.

"Come the new moon," Fay says. "We got together soon into the term." She takes a deep breath. "It's not the first time we've had Staff up our skirts over our love life, Morgan. Nurse Snakehead gave us plenty of trouble. She wanted you and was jealous of me."

"I don't think she gets jealous, exactly," you say. "Possessive? And then cold. I don't know."

Fay laughs. "You were her play-toy," she says. "She found some others. Same thing with Tutor. Hawk will find some other bums to cane tomorrow. She's too busy to hold grudges."

You nod and sigh. "You're right," you say, sniffling. A drop runs down your cheek.

"Don't cry, Morgan," Fay says.

"Can't I cry?" you say. "I love you and it's our anniversary. Almost."

Fay turns herself round, head and shoulders. "Silly girl," she says. "Kiss me."

You bend to meet her lips as she sits on the padded bench.

Fay breaks the kiss and whispers, "And yes, we want Lolo," she says. "In Leontes, in Minerval, or even if we have to all three join those sad babies in Beavertail or those pompous schemers in Draconis."

"Draconis?" you whisper back. "Headmistress has a pig's tail."

You giggle together.

"Slander," Fay says. "Actually, I've heard she does have extra nipples under that green silk bodice."

"Even better," you say. "I'd rather have Housemistress Bertha 'Vast Tracts of Land' Beeblossom."

Fay says,"Mistress Melonboobs is rather sweet, I'll admit. I could get lost in her cleavage. But I'd probably find some soppy boy had gotten there first."

Fay rises from the bench and spreads her arms, folding them around you. You hold each other, naked in the center of your room. You don't have to bend down so much, and you feel more of her warmth.

"We'll talk about Lolo tomorrow," Fay says. "Come to bed, Morgan."

"Always."
