Truth or Dare it is

“Oh, nice, I love truth or dare,” Heather clapped as she plopped down on the floor beside the others.

“Hannah…,” Taylor said through gritted teeth.

“Chill, Tay, you just said you didn’t want to play poker anymore,” the blonde retorted playfully.

Zack closed the door out of habit and sat down beside Heather. “So, who starts?”

“Gavin can start,” Hannah shrugged with a grin. “He would’ve won even our clothes if we were playing for something before.”

Gavin coughed at the quip but quickly got himself under control. The old him would’ve blushed and stopped functioning by now, something he thanked Elle for. Still, he wasn’t sure he should be the one to start the game, simply because he had no idea about what to ask. He had never played truth or dare before. “But, what I should even ask?”

“Anything,” Heather chuckled. “Don’t worry too much, it’ll come to you as we play.”

“Alright,” the hazel-eyed boy turned to his best friend, figuring he would be the safest choice to start. “Zack, truth or dare?”

Zack gave his friend a reassuring nod. “I think I’m gonna go with truth, buddy.”

“Okay, uhn…, where were you and Heather before you came here?”

“Aww, Gavin,” Hannah whined. “That’s too lame.”

“Shush, Hannah, he’s learning,” Taylor told her friend off.

“Well, we were hanging out in the hot tub, but Mom’s there now. I thought we should give her some time to relax by herself,” Zack answered, albeit with a half-truth.

Taylor smiled. “Yeah, she needs it badly. Your turn, bro.”

Zack grinned and turned to his girlfriend. “Heather, truth or dare?”

She responded with a smirk. “Always dare, baby.”

Zack shrugged. “Give me a kiss, then.”

“And the lameness continues, ladies and gentlemen,” Hannah announced as Zack and Heather exchanged a brief kiss.

After that, the game continued with a few harmless questions and dares, such as when Taylor dared Heather to remove her sandals and the brunette dared Hannah to act like a chicken for ten seconds. Hannah then looked around the group, trying to decide who was going to be her next target.

“Mmm, Gavin, truth or dare?”

“Truth,” he replied at once, not really wanting to dive into dares yet.

A wicked grin appeared at the corner of the older blonde’s lips. “Have you ever had a crush on someone in this room?”

Gavin’s eyes widened and instantly went to Taylor. The way the others gasped told him he had been found out. Oh, shit.

Taylor looked up and saw everyone staring at her. “Who? Me?” she turned to Gavin and gave him a fond smile. “That’s sweet, Gavin, I’m flattered,” she pretended to not know her brother’s friend used to have feelings for her. Zack briefly chuckled, while he and Gavin used to discuss Hannah’s physical assets more, he was aware his friend preferred his sister. Heather just looked at the others with a surprised expression.

Gavin groaned, it seemed like everyone but Heather knew about his old crush. He had more or less gotten over it after Elle, but Taylor’s proximity made a doubt spring up deep inside his mind. Who would I pick if both of them were in front of me, demanding for me to make a choice?

“Gav, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about,” Taylor reassured him. “Don’t worry, okay?”

The young man in question nodded and the game continued for a few more rounds until Taylor made the mistake of choosing dare when Hannah targeted her.

The blonde laughed maniacally, causing Taylor to instantly regret her choice. "Mmm, alright, I think now it's a good time as any, Tay," she told her best friend. "I dare you to give Gavin a little kiss."
