Chapter 4 by Duskford Duskford

What happens inside? How do they decide about the rooms?

Picking up the rooms

When they stepped into the spacious living room of the cabin, Monica was even more impressed by its interior. The doctor figured she would have had to pay a steep price to rent a cabin such as this one.

“Okay, I think you should get the Lake Room, Mrs. Bis…, I mean, Monica,” Heather grinned. “It has a big bed and you won’t have to share with anyone.”

“Thank you, dear,” Monica smiled at her son’s girlfriend before raising a suspicious eyebrow. “So, tell me, what about the other rooms?”

“There’s the Master Room, where I’ll be staying tonight and my dad will get tomorrow, and then we have two smaller room with three beds each,” the girl explained.

Monica figured out the remaining sleeping arrangements on the spot, at least the ones Heather wanted, as she looked at Zack and his girlfriend throwing sly grins at each other. “You two know that, as the adult, I can’t let you sleep together, right?”

Zack spluttered and Heather tried to look innocent. “Oh, Mrs. Bishop, we would never think about that,” she chuckled nervously.

“I know neither of you wouldn’t, dear,” she playfully told them. “Seriously, I can’t, your father will come tomorrow and I don’t know how he’d prefer to handle this situation. So, to be on the safe side, you know the drill…”

Zack and Heather nodded as Hannah grinned nearby. “We’re adults too, we can make sure they don’t step out of line for you, Monica,” she pointed at Taylor and herself.

Taylor laughed. “I am, the jury’s still out on you.”

The busty blonde stuck out her tongue at her best friend’s quip, causing the others to join in the laughs.

Hannah’s younger sister, Ashley, was Heather’s best friend, and she had been invited as well, but Ash decided to stay behind in town and spend some time with other friends of hers. There were other members of their tight gang missing. Chloe McRose, Zack and Gavin’s old friend, was away from town with the school soccer team, and Victoria Walker, a close friend of Heather and Ashley’s, had decided to go camping with her boyfriend Dustin Lewis as they slowly rekindled their romance after the boy’s return to Azure Rocks. She had told Heather that they might drop by during the weekend.

“Alright, this should be self-explanatory, but Zack and Gavin get one of the small rooms and Taylor and Hannah can have the other,” Heather instructed. “Well, now everyone’s free to do what they want, I guess. I’m gonna unpack, see ya.”

The others nodded and decided to do the same, no one up to deal with sorting out clothes later in the night.

Taylor and Hannah entered the bedroom that was located directly across the Lake Room where Monica was standing. Not really needing a fancy place, the two friends liked what they saw. It had three twin-sized beds, along with a dresser, a nightstand for each bed, a desk and three comfortable-looking stuffed chairs.

“Which bed do you want?” Taylor inquired, pulling her suitcase behind her.

Hannah’s gaze swept over the room for a while before answering. “The one under the window.”

The brunette nodded and they attacked their luggage. No one who looked from outside could possibly understand how two completely different girls like Taylor and Hannah could be such close friends. While Taylor was the studious, serious one, Hannah was the insatiable party girl. While Taylor had only had two boyfriends her entire life, Hannah had only had one, but a myriad of one-night stands, both with boys and girls in recent times. Taylor had the slender body of a model, whereas Hannah was curvy and toned like a Playboy centerfold. Despite all that, the two of them met each other all the way back in middle school and had been friends ever since. They couldn’t imagine their lives without the other around.

“It must suck for you,” Taylor commented, a glint in her eye. “No hearts to stomp this weekend.”

Hannah scoffed. “Please, I’m sure there’s plenty of game in the other cabins. I just have to lie down by the lake in one of my bikinis and wait,” she chuckled before it turned into a smirk. “Bet I can even find one for you.”

Taylor stopped what she was doing, her mouth agape. “Hannah, don’t you dare.”

Hannah just grinned mischievously and cocked her head to the side. “Relax, you probably wouldn’t get the chance anyway, not with your mom here.”

“You’d be surprised at how cool my mother is with things, she was always open about discussing whatever Zack and I wanted,” Taylor said, folding a shirt. “I think she only put the brakes on Zack and Heather because she doesn’t know how Heather’s dad would react if he found out she let them sleep together.” Taylor then continued to store her clothes in the dresser for a few moments before Hannah’s silence bugged her. She turned back to find her friend deep in thought. “What?”

Hannah snapped out of it and just grinned in response. “You mentioned Zack and Heather’s dad. If I get bored, maybe I should just tease our guys, Robert Ravers is really hot, you know?”

Taylor laughed. “Zack would freak out, I guess he’ll always have a little crush on you. Let’s see, Gavin would probably have a heart attack, and I don’t know about Mr. Ravers.”

“Yeah, we’ll just have to go hunting for boys tomorrow!” Hannah announced, spreading out her arms and jumping a few times, causing her big breasts to bounce wildly.

“Hannah!” Taylor groaned.

Monica closed the door of the Lake Room and marveled at the bedroom she found. Its name probably derived from having the best view of Silver Lake in the cabin. It had a queen-sized bed, along with a dresser, a desk, two nightstands, a loveseat and one armchair. Another open door led to a bathroom.

She pulled her two suitcases and placed them in front of the dresser before walking over to the bed and sitting on the edge of it. Geez, this is really comfy, the woman thought, bouncing on it a few times.

Letting out a deep breath, Monica wondered how much rest she would be able to get over that weekend. She had planned it as a solo trip, but now lots people had joined her. Taylor and Zack didn’t worry her in the slightest, they were the best children she could have asked for, and Monica always enjoyed their company. She knew Gavin and Hannah for a long time as well, and while the boy was very quiet, the girl could be really rowdy when she wanted to. Monica wasn’t able to get a proper reading of Heather yet, but she knew that if her son got himself in trouble that weekend, it was very likely that girl would be involved in it somehow.

Well, Zack needs a little shaking up in his life, breaking up with Lisa Rivera didn’t do him any good. If Heather can make him happy as it seems she’s doing, she has my full approval.

Figuring it was best to not postpone the unpacking, the woman got right to it while trying to come up with something to do later. I think I saw a hot tub on the deck.

How are the teenagers faring?
