Chapter 6 by switching switching

Your move as king

A Very Important Guest

You sit upon your throne, your hands lightly gripping the arms of said glorious chair. You observe your subjects, the crowd who attended your coronation, and you find it all to be so boring. You refrain from slumping over and resting your head in your hand. You are a king now and your subjects have great expectations of you. One of the minor ones is to **** out fake smiles at your people. Granted, smiles from a monarch, fake or genuine, made them more appealing to the peasantry through implying the noblesse oblige, which is ultimately a good thing for any ruler's reputation.

Lord Dietrich soon re-enters your field of vision. Behind him is a younger man dressed in a foreign uniform, armored beneath the heraldry. But the uniform wasn't any of your vassals', that much is clear. "Sire," Dietrich began, "this man here is an emissary from the Arch Duchy of Lothelsabourg." Your eyes widen slightly at hearing the name of a rather prestigious territory of the Confederation.

"Good King," the emissary slowly moved pass Dietrich and bowed respectfully before you. "I am an emissary of Arch Duke Franz Jacques. First and foremost, he thanks you for being a most gracious host." You raise an eyebrow out of mild bewilderment. You weren't aware that an Arch Duke had actually come to attend your coronation. The Arch Duke of Lothelsabourg was a fairly powerful man. His presence could present opportunity or offer trouble. "A good morn to you, my good man. Please inform the Arch Duke I hope his stay here has been wonderful." You give the man a small smile.

The man nods, "I shall, your Highness, but he wishes to speak with you in person."

"That appears to be the case, Sire. The Arch Duke currently waits you in the council room." The 'best not keep him waiting' was not necessary to be mentioned.

You stand up from your throne. That alone causes those in attendance to cease their activities and look to you. You ignore them for now and address the emissary. "What does your master want?" You ask is curious manner, not aggressively. "My Lord did not say," the emissary replies, "he only requests to speak to you personally. What response do you offer I give my Lord, Sire?"

"No response necessary." You say, which slightly startles Dietrich, thinking you are choosing to ignore the Arch Duke out right. "I shall go to him this moment." Dietrich relaxes at your words. You turn to the crowd and announce, "Thank you all for coming here and celebrating this wonderful occasion with me. Your support truly fills with joy. But as King, I have duties I must attend and sometimes, they can't wait. I ask that you pray for me, that the Lord above give me wisdom to lead you as your King. God bless you all!" Your people cheer and clap for you and continue to do so as you exit the throne room.

Dietrich leads you and the emissary to the council room. On the way, you figure a conversation with the emissary would prove helpful.

(Switching's Note: Chapters written by me will feature the MC to have a Celtic Mother and will take on the appearance of his Almain Father with blonde hair and blue eyes. He will also be named Wilhelm. This is for plot related reasons which may or may not come into play in the future. So at least for now, I will avoid mentioning his name, his hair and eye colors until the plot calls for it. In the meantime, you may choose to visual the MC in any way you want.)
