Not their first choice

It was determined that the first name Vicky drew would be the person to share the room with Ashley. While Brandon looked on with a hopeful expression, Zack looked on anxiously. While he got along well with Ashley and wouldn't actually mind sharing a room with her, she was also his good friend's girlfriend and had just made it very clear that she would like to share a room with Brandon. It also made Zack a little uncomfortable that even though he had tried to avoid thinking of Ashley that way, Zack felt his cock twitch a little at the thought of potentially sharing a bed with the admittedly quite beautiful cheerleader. He did not want to imagine how awkward it would be between him and Brandon if his name were drawn. As Lady Luck, a.k.a. Victoria Walker, would have it, however, that would not be the case. As Vicky read out Kurt’s name, he felt conflicted. For one thing, he had slowly started to warm up to the idea of rooming with Ashley, if for no other reason than to protect her from a guy like Kurt. Now, he and Brandon had to deal with a reality that had Ashley spending considerable amounts of time with a guy they did not know that much, and one who didn’t give off a great first impression. Zack looked over at Brandon and Ashley and saw their reactions, which bordered on openly hostile, while Kurt sat there with a self-satisfied smirk on his face.

Brandon leaned over towards Ashley’s ear and started whispering to her urgently immediately after Vicky had read out Kurt’s name. Zack felt for them, expecting to come to this cabin and rooming together, only to be so abruptly broken apart. Zack saw Brandon and Ashley nod at each other and break their private conversation with sullen looks at no one in particular. Kurt meanwhile had been trying to get Ashley’s attention with a waggling eyebrow, and a dazzling smile, Ashley was doing a good job of ignoring the guy, which eventually made him stop.

Before Zack could say anything to comfort his friends, Heather’s voice once again rang above the rest attempting to return order to the shocked room. “Okay, I know that wasn’t what we all expected, but let’s try to deal with it for as long as we can. Kurt may be many things, but he isn’t a complete idiot, at least not most of the time.” Heather tried to calm Brandon and Ashley down.

“Thank you for that rousing judgement of my character Heather.” Kurt said sarcastically. “But really, I’m not that bad.” He said to Ashley directly, causing Brandon to snarl at him making Kurt chuckle and put his hands up in mock surrender.

“Now that that is settled I have placed Brandon over in the room next to the master room!” Heather said. “Awesome, that way we can at least keep in touch.” Brandon whispered to Ashley loud enough that Zack could hear him.

“Now we will determine who shares a room with Brandon!” Heather continued. Vicky again drew a piece of paper from the hood of the hoodie. Brandon looked on distractedly, still recovering from who Ashley was rooming with to take any real interest as Vicky unfolded the note and read out loud: “Madison!”

Now that got Brandon’s attention, Madison was not your usual supportive sibling, but she had her moments, and Brandon hoped she was having one of those prolonged moments during this week. The announcement prompted an exasperated sigh from Brandon’s twin. “Damn Bro, at least it’s a big enough bed, I do not want to have to feel your morning wood anywhere near me!” At that statement Brandon sighed internally, so she’s in that kind of mood he groaned in his mind. From Brandon’s reaction of slight ashamedness Zack wondered whether there wasn’t some more backstory to it than just usual sibling bickering. Zack decided to not bother Brandon about it seeing as he had already a lot on his mind.

“Ok, who’s next?” Heather asked excitedly, obviously getting into this. “The next person drawn will be rooming with Zack.” Heather said. Vicky drew the next name from the hoodie, all the while thoughts were flying through Zack’s head as to who he wanted it to be the most, and he had decided between either Gavin or Chloe seeing as they were the safest choices.

“Hannah.” Vicky said as she read of the small square folded piece of paper. Zack couldn’t believe what had just come out of Vicky’s mouth. Hannah?! She had been his crush for the longest time until he started dating Lisa, he looked over to see Hannah’s reaction and saw her smiling slightly at him, and seeing Taylor looking suspiciously at her best friend. The rest of the rooms were quickly determined. Gavin was paired Lisa in the second Queen-sized bed, Zack was happy about that pairing, Gavin and Lisa had grown close during his short relationship with the Latina.

This left Heather and Taylor together, and Chloe and Vicky together. Chloe gave Zack a look asking if he would want her to talk with Vicky about him, he simply smiled at her and shook his head and followed Hannah towards their room along with everyone else. She looked after him strangely, but soon followed along after Vicky. Things were already off to a rocky start, Zack only hoped things could go up from there.
