Chapter 84 by Artican Artican

Do you follow this lead or try to find another way to learn more about Lynn?

Check to see if your mom has what Stacy wants

It's a lead, which is more than you had earlier today. Stacy is hinting that she does know something more about Lynn's plans for you, so it would be a waste to just let it go. Hopefully, the figurine your mom was bragging about is the same one Stacy is talking about. Then, it'd just be a matter of getting it off your mom and over to Stacy. If you play it out right, you will get your magic back and be able to wish things back if you need to. At least, that's the logic you've come up with as you and Amina head back home. You look over to Amina and wonder how you are going to explain her to your mom. You remember their... intimate encounter... the other day and dread having to talk to her about it, but if you can't convince your mom to let Amina stay, you don't know where else she could stay. Would she stay in the pendant like a genie of the lamp? Then you wouldn't have her helping you. Do you need her help? It is nice to have someone around who knows your predicament.

"Is there something wrong master?" Amina asks, breaking your train of thought.

"Huh?" you reply, shaking your head clear. "Sorry, I was thinking of something."

"What were you thinking?"

"Well, how are we going to explain things to my mom about you? I mean, after what happened yesterday with you and her..."

Amina smiles slightly as she reminisces the encounter, "I'm sure Mrs. {Lastname} will be accepting of whatever you tell her, master. She seemed very helpful to me when I was there."

"Yeah, but that was when Lynn had that love spell on you."

"That's true..." Amina realizes. "What if she's angry over what happened? What if she doesn't like me?" Amina's face grows stern with worry and you feel a pang of regret for putting this worry over her.

"Don't worry about it," you console her. "She likes everybody." You get the sensation of introducing a girlfriend to your mom and feel a little knot in your stomach as well. Your mom is a friendly and kind woman though, so you shouldn't have to worry about anything.

The rest of the walk home is quiet as you both ruminate over how this will go.

You arrive home and notice the car in the drive way. Your mom is home. You take a deep breath and exhale, then glance over to Amina who is doing similar preparations. She gives you a nod and you open the door.

"Mom?" you call out into the house.

"Riley! Where have you been? You didn't come home last night!" you mom cries out from the second floor.

"Uh... was helping someone out with some school work and ended up having to stay over..." you explain truthfully.

Your mom marches down the stares to meet you in the foyer. "Well, next time, you call when you're going to be out all night!" she replies in her parenting tone, before spotting Amina next to you. "Oh! Hello dear!" your mom greets in a much warmer voice. "Amina, wasn't it?"

Amina smiles politely, "Yes, Mrs. Williams."

"Call me Shirley. I hope you've been keeping my boy out of trouble," she smiles. So far things seem to be going well.

"I do as he wishes, Shirley." Amina responds.

"Riley!" your mom blurts out with shock. "What have you been doing to this girl?! It should be the other way around. You do as she tells you!" You sigh and say nothing, because you know anything you say will be turned against you in the court of your mother. "Oh, Amina dear, you still haven't found your clothes? You're wearing the same thing I gave you..."

"Uh, I'm afraid not..." Amina says, looking at her outfit.

"Well, even I know that this sort of fashion won't suit someone your age. How long are you staying with us? We need to get you some clothes."

"Oh, it's no bother, Shirley, I am fine with what I have."

"It's not fine. I'm taking you out shopping!" your mom announces with a hint of excitement in her voice. You wonder if she's doing this for Amina or using it as an excuse to shop.

"I couldn't... I don't have any money..." Amina starts.

"Nonsense, I'll pay," your mother offers.

"I don't know how I could repay you..." Amina says with a smile.

"Oh I could think of some ways... "

You cringe at your mother's suggestive intonation and awkwardly try to change the subject. "So... umm... I was telling Amina about your Princess collection. You know that one super rare one you picked up off the Internet? Was it the Star Princess Summer Edition?"

"The Summer Edition? Heck no, that thing costs about two grand! I like to shop, but even that's a little out of my price range!" your mom replies with a laugh. She turns her attention to Amina and says, "So, you're into Rainbow Princess? Which is your favorite one?"

"Umm... Princess Ballerina?" Amina says, probably naming the only Princess character that she knows.

"Oh, mine's Pony Princess, you know, before she became Unicorn Princess. She was so much better as the underdog and now I have trouble rooting for her when she can do so much."

"Ah... I'm afraid I haven't seen that part yet..." Amina admits.

"Oh! I thought you would have... I'm sorry I spoiled it for you!" your mother apologizes. She holds Amina as if the girl had just got hit in the head because of her. "Well, you can catch up with me! I have all the episodes on the computer. First we go shopping though!" Your mother leads Amina back out the door. "Have you eaten yet? You must be starving by now."

Amina and your mom seem to be hitting it off. You don't know how it will turn out if your mom figures out that Amina isn't just a normal girl though. Plus, with Amina's penchant for honesty, you fear she may reveal too much about your relationship which could lead to a really awkward talk with your mom.

Should you join them on their shopping trip or find something else to do while they are out?
