Chapter 83
by

Do you help Stacy with her problem or move on?
Help Stacy with her problem.
You sigh and admit to yourself that you can't just have one of your school mates throw away her life through bad decisions when you could do something to help. You knock on her door and wait. No answer. You knock again.
There is stamping behind the door. It opens up with the chain lock still attached. Stacy looks through the crack. "Yes?"
"We were concerned..." you start.
"About?"
"You."
"What about me?"
"Are you doing ****?" you ask bluntly.
"What? No! Where would you get that idea?" Stacy responds indignantly.
You nod to Amina, "Well someone who cares about you is worried that you are."
Amina gives a worried look over to Stacy whom laughs and shakes her head. "This is about Professor Lindeman, isn't it?" Amina nods meekly. Stacy sighs and unlocks the door. "Fine, I might as well show you so you don't have a fit over it..." The door swings open and you walk back inside. Stacy leads you over to the kitchen where the professor is standing in front of a bunch of neatly laid out bagged items. Stacy reaches out and picksup one of the small baggies and hands it over to Amina. "THIS is what the professor brought me."
Amina looks it over and says, "Oh."
"Oh?" you respond. The genie holds the object up to you. It's a tiny little figurine of a cartoon ballerina. You look to Stacy and say, "This is...?"
Stacy rolls her eyes as she is **** to explain herself to you. "This is Princess Ballerina from the Rainbow Princess series... "
You blink silently at the fangirl.
"Rainbow Princess! A sisterhood of royalty united against the exploits of Baron Sad! It's a really popular show..."
The description hits a note of recognition in you. "Yeah! For nine year olds..."
Stacy glares at you. "Well, there you have it, I'm colleccting and don't want anyone know about it. Lindeman texted me telling me he got hold of some rare figurines so I had him come over with them right away."
"I'm not really a professor..." Lindeman admits.
"So, now you know, you laugh it up and be on your way," Stacy huffs.
"You know, it's not that bad," you admit to Stacy. "It's not ****. Also, I think my mom collected some of that stuff too, so it's not like it HAS to be for nine year olds... In fact, I remember her bragging about nabbing a super rare figurine off of eBay." A thought occurs to you. "Maybe she'd be willing to part with it."
"Which one is it?" Stacy asks, intrigued. Lindeman also leans in to hear more.
"Well, I don't know for sure, but I can find out."
"And what would you want in return?" Stacy asks in suspicion.
You lean in close this time and say, "I get the feeling you aren't telling me all you can about Lynn and what she's up to. If this doll is worth it, you spill on your friend."
"I'm not selling out my friend for a princess figurine," Stacy scoffs. "It's not worth it."
"Not even for a Star Princess swimsuit edition?" Lindeman challenges. Stacy gives pause and the old man explains, "That's a limited release anniversary summer special that only has 25 ever made."
"Yeah, but I doubt your mom got that one..." Stacy smirks.
"But if she did, we'd have something worth talking about, wouldn't we?"
Stacy bites her lower lip, "I wouldn't give you anything that would hurt my friend."
"I haven't hurt anybody!" you proclaim. "If you think about it, it's Lynn that's making me suffer. Now I want to know why and put an end to it. Is that too much to ask?"
Stacy sighs. "Well, if you get the Star Princess Swimsuit Edition, then maybe we'll talk..."
Do you follow this lead or try to find another way to learn more about Lynn?
