There's a tear in her bottoms.

Any cosplayer is always intimately aware of what's happening with their costume, and seeing as Lynn had reduced hers to just a bikini for the beach party, it was even more obvious what had happened. The way she had landed had torn a hole in her blue-and-pink bikini bottoms. Lynn couldn't know how big it was; she would have to see for herself later. At least she had two layers to protect her decency, even if one was just a scrap of black fabric... but she knew she no longer wanted to be here right now.

Then there was the fact that she had just botched the return, giving Saki the final point she needed to win the match. In the end, her rival had made a fool of her. Lynn could see the crowd-- including HammeredTime-- rushing to Saki's side of the field to congratulate her. Goddammit, that was supposed to have been her! And now Saki would definitely be getting all of Kurt's attention.

The wheels in her head started turning. With everyone distracted by Saki, this would be the perfect opportunity to sneak off and find Joy without anyone seeing her. The two of them together could even do some 'battlefield repairs' and get her bottoms back in 'fighting condition' in only a few minutes. This horrible embarrassment might not be the end of the world.

On the other hand, if she snuck off now, she would never be able to get The "Hammer's" attention again. It would be hard enough to 'reclaim' him from Saki with her victory, but she still stood a chance so long as she stayed near the two of them. If she left them alone... well, the two might disappear off by themselves before she knew it. But that would mean living with the tear in her bottoms for a little while longer.

She turned the issue over in her head as she sat, defeated and ignored, in the sand.
