Talk to her

Screw it, you have never been afraid of the police and you are sure she seems like one of the only two normal people around right now.

When you approached the police officer she pushes herself off of the pillar she was leaning against and tips her hat to you slightly.

“Sir, I am on duty right now. “ She says it in a tone that seems to be both a gentle reminder and a warning. You don’t really understand why though.

“Yes that is why I came over,” You reply, trying to keep your eyes from skittering off of the woman in front of you to stare at the women walking past on the street. It seems that the park is not an isolated case after all, you can see plenty of women out on the street who are dressed the same as those in the park although more often than not they are not dressed at all. “This might sound like a odd question but you couldn’t tell me the name of this city please.”

Her eyes are hidden by the sunglasses but you can tell she is giving you a look behind them before she responds. She tells you something that would cause you more confusion in normal circumstances. Namly she tells you that the city you are currently stood in shares the exact same name as the tiny town you lived in.

You looked around at the park again with new eyes and started to see that she might not be lying. You overlay the geography of the area around the Funhouse on to the park and start to see areas where they match up.

So this must be some kind of parallel universe and obviously something had happened to make things very different from your world. For one thing you realise that you are yet to see another man anywhere around.

So now the problem was to figure out what the rules of this world where and you had to figure out a way to find out without standing out.

Turning back to the Officer who seemed to have decided something was not going to happen and had relaxed you ask. “I don’t suppose you could tell me where the nearest….”
