A final plea

"O lord who art in heaven, hear my cry! Spare my sister! Let not her fall from the light!" you cry, raising your hands and kneeling, dipping into the depths of your heart for the strongest of your faith and hope.

"Don't ignore me, sis! We are going to have such fun!" the succubus Kristin jeers as she strides toward the stair threshold.

But it would seem someone is listening to you. With a clap like thunder, a shock-wave slams through the chapel, slamming the stairway door shut yet leaving the stained glass and pews undisturbed.

You look up and behold a brilliant light that silhouettes a magnificent figure. It appears as if the Lord has sent an angel to guide you.

You are snapped out of your reverie by a regal, male voice that declares your name. "You must exorcise the demonic influence from within your sister. Fear not; the Lord recognizes your unyielding faith and will guide you on your path. Your journey is an important one."

At his decree, a gold scepter topped with a clear gem materializes within your reach. You grasp this holy gift with wonder and awe.

"O mighty angel, I am humbled by this blessing. I--" you trail off as the angel looses a gentle chuckle.

"My child, you need not grovel. Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it."

You smile at the scripture. "Then I have but one question: is there a way to save my sister's soul and her life?"

"Fear not, child. Let the hand of the Lord guide you, and His plan will be made known!" With that, the light dims and the silhouette vanishes.

You look down at the beautiful staff in your hands and hope you can do what you have been trusted to do.
