Cindi is a little jealous, at first

"Trying not to get beat up," he said. "Besides, have you forgotten our plan? You were the one who said you wanted to get in with the cool girls. I'm just trying to help."

"Not sure how you getting laid helps me?"

"I'm not getting laid. I'm making contacts." Although he had to admit that getting laid would be a nice benefit. He was a little surprised that Cindi seemed so jealous. It wasn't like they were dating or anything. Perhaps he should ask her out. Or perhaps she'd served her purpose and he should treat her as a friend rather than as a love interest.
