Emi helps Zander back home

Emi began dabbing at Zander's bloody nose. "You should be more careful," she said.

"So... What's the story with the monsters?" Zander asked.

Emi removed a book from her purse. The ancient tome had runes inscribed into the leather and the visage of a magic staff imprinted in the center.

"Long ago," she said, "There was a Great Evil known as Lilith. She was originally assigned to protect Earth by the great deity. Instead she used them as tools and playthings-"

"Okay so standard cultural misappropriation of Judeo-Christian Myth and Religion."

"But in order to stop her he entrusted a mortal with the powers of Sorcery. The powers passed down the female line, but there is a cost every time the powers are used..."

There was a long drawn out pause.

"...um," Zander said, "are you waiting for me to-"
