A very stupid mistake

John opened the door but there was no one there.

"Strange" he thought. "Might as well go take a walk to the library to see Jenny instead of taking the car, it's such a beautiful day and it will give me time to think about what to do with my good-for-nothing power".

So John got outside. Soon, he was actively thinking about different ways to test his power and was very self-absorbed. Of course, sooner than later, he ran into somebody, a very beautiful girl who seemed to be about 18. Both fell on the ground, John on top of the girl leaving him very embarassed. So, without thinking, John said: "Oh, sorry, I can be such a doofus sometimes ! I hope you're not hurt." To which the girl replied: "No problem, I can be such a doofus myself. No harm's done. My name is Felicia. What's yours?" She then get up and smile to John.

At this moment John felt something strange for a brief moment, an impression that something terrible was going to happen very soon. It was over very quickly though.

"What did you say? I'm sorry but me being such a doofus sometimes, I need to concentrate to be able to hold a conversation and I was not ready." John said. Felicia replied: "Oh I totally understand, I need to do the same, well to be perfectly honest, I don't remember... Let me think about it" So, for a very awkward 5 minutes, she did just that, frowning her eyebrows and tilting her head away, trying to remember. Then she did it. "Oh, I remember now. I asked you, what is your name?"

"I don't remember?!" John said, on the verge of panic. Felicia put her hand on John shoulder and tried to reassure him: "Don't worry too much about it, it will comes back to you eventually." "But I'm such an idiot!" he whined. And just like, it was now definitively true. And what comes with stupidity? Gullibility, of course.

"You should not be ashamed of who you are" she replied.
"I should not be ashamed of who I am?" he pleaded.
"No, in fact you should always be proud of you, that's what my mom always told me".
"Ok, you must be right. I will always be proud of myself". And with that John was transformed into something much much worse than a stupid, gullible person... a clueless stupid gullible person.
