Brandon shows up to the meeting with Shawn

A few minutes before the time Shawn had set up, Brandon found himself walking along Silver Lake’s border, with the cabin across the lake being his destination. He didn’t know why he should comply with the older guy’s wishes, seeing as he barely knew him, but the football player figured he could humor the older Lewis at the very least.

Brandon didn’t even bother looking for Heather as Shawn instructed because he was sure the cheerleader captain wouldn’t have wanted to attend a meeting with Dustin’s brother.

With growing curiosity, Brandon walked past the cabin and reached its parking spot, a sole vehicle parked there. A few more steps and there was Shawn Lewis, leaning against the brick wall on one side of the driveway.

“You’ve made it, good,” Shawn said, briefly looking around. “Where’s Ravers?”

Brandon shrugged. “Couldn’t find her.” He lied.

Shawn scrunched up his face. “Damn, it could be easier with her on board,” He complained. “But well, I think we can do it without her.”

“Yeah, about that,” Brandon crossed his arms in front of his chest. “What am I doing here?”

The older guy smirked in response. “You’re here my friend,” He drawled, taking a couple of steps forward. “’Cause I’m gonna help you get Victoria Walker.”

Brandon spluttered. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Shawn laughed. “Please, Cole, don’t try to tell me you weren’t eye-fucking her sweet ass all morning,” He provoked. “I know I was.”

“I don’t know, Shawn…”

“Listen, I’ve heard you ended a two-year relationship yesterday with Hannah’s sister,” Shawn interrupted him. “May I ask why?”

Brandon sighed. “If you really must know, she figured she needed some time to be with another guy,” He made a pause. “You know, to be sure I’m the one for her.”

Shawn laughed harder. “That’s the biggest bullshit I’ve ever heard, man!” He exclaimed between bouts of laughter. “If she didn’t have a specific guy in mind already, she would never have broken up with you.”

At the younger guy’s silence, Shawn continued. “But it’s ok, it’s better this way,” He said. “You’re the freaking quarterback of the fucking football team, man! You should’ve been swimming in pussy by now!”

“Life isn’t a movie, Shawn.” Brandon groaned.

“Of course not,” The older of the Lewis siblings drawled. “But it remains the fact that you probably are the most popular guy in Azure Rocks High School, my friend. You could, and should have any girl you want, whenever and however you want. Including sweet Victoria.”
