In the meantime, Gavin was on the wooden deck outside the cabin trying hard to engage Brandon in conversation while they started up the grill, but the athlete seemed to not be into it.

At first, he assumed that his friend was just depressed because of his break up with Ashley, but then Gavin noticed that Brandon had his eyes locked at some point near the lake. Trying to ascertain where Brandon was looking at, Gavin squinted his eyes and that’s when he saw Victoria running along the lake’s border.

“Uhn, Brandon?” He asked, a little confused. “Why are you staring at Victoria?”

“What?” Brandon retorted at first, but then he realized Gavin must have seen where he was looking. A small smile formed on his lips. “So, you noticed it, huh?”

From what Gavin knew, there wasn’t many reasons for Brandon to be staring at Victoria jogging around the lake, so he became quite confused until an imaginary lamp turned on above his head. ”He likes her?” Gavin asked himself. He knew Zack and Victoria were on the verge of no longer happening after what Chloe told him that happened the previous night, but Brandon had Ashley, even if they were currently on a break. ”I’m starting to think this cabin is a living entity pushing us to do weird stuff.”

“It’s ok, Gavin,” Brandon admitted. “Just don’t tell anyone else yet, please.”

“Alright, but,” Gavin trailed. “How?”

Brandon sighed. “It’s a long story, something I had forgotten and now it came back with full ****.”

Gavin silently nodded and Brandon turned back to the lake, where Victoria was still jogging. He was a little scared that his old interest on the green-eyed blonde seemed to be mixing with his love for Ashley and messing with his head so fast. ”It’s not only that,” He supposed. ”I’m lusting towards her, that must be it,” The football player concluded while he watched Vicky’s ass sway as she ran. ”A lot of relationships start with lust, though.”

He wondered if Victoria was capable of doing what Ashley did, that is, end a long-standing relationship to try out other guys just to be sure of what she really wanted. ”No, Victoria doesn’t seem to be the kind of girl who does that.”

At that thought, Brandon suddenly felt very disappointed in Ashley for discarding their love so easily, like it was nothing more than a nuisance to her plans. ”The whole time I was nothing more than a good boyfriend for her,” He thought. ”I deserve to find someone who respects me and my feelings, someone who doesn’t say she loves me while checking out other guys right under my nose!”

However, Victoria was off limits, Zack had a huge crush on her and Brandon wasn’t about to make a move on her without clearing things with his friend first. ”He seems to be getting awfully close to Heather these days, maybe he won’t mind.” He reasoned. ”But there’s Dustin as well, I don’t know where he stands on her.”
