Wake up!

Zack slowly opened his eyes but everything is so blurry. Zack tried to look around and he could make out a figure standing next to him. "Wait, why am I in a bed?" thought Zack. He tried to ask the figure for some water but all that came out of his mouth was, "w..w...er..." Zack heard someone shriek and felt someone hugging him tightly. "Zack! Are you okay!?" the person asked.

"Huh, why does she sound like Chloe?" thought Zack. "...loe...?" croaked Zack. He heard the person say yes and felt a breeze as the person walked by. Zack heard the person filling up a cup with water and holding it at his lips. Zack drank the water like it was the last drop of water in the world. The water soothed his aching throat and he instantly felt better.

Zack's vision started to clear up and he looked at the face of Chloe. "Where am I and why is there a cotton pad across your cheek?" asked Zack.

"You're in the hospital. You lost consciousness after the car took a bad landing. I was out for a few minutes until I regained my consciousness. I saw Heather standing over me and I guessed she called for an ambulance." replied Chloe.

"Accident? We were in a accident? Why?" asked Zack with a very confused look on his face.

Chloe looked at him quizzically, "Yeah we were. Can you remember what happened?"

Zack tried his best but his mind was blank, "No...I can't."

Chloe was about to say more but was interrupted by someone opening the door. Zack and Chloe looked at the door and saw a doctor coming him. "Zack. You're finally awake!" said the doctor. The doctor was followed by a police officer with a stern look on his face. "Hello son. I'm Officer Peters. I'm gonna ask you a few questions about the accident if it is alright with you."

"What accident?" asked Zack.

The police had a confused look on his face and looked at the doctor. The doctor started checking Zack's vitals, "Zack, can you remember anything?" asked Chloe with a concerned look on her face.

"The last thing I remembered was me going out to the beach with you guys and Lisa." said Zack.

Chloe immediately thought back to the picture in Lisa's cabin with the friends hanging out at the beach. "Oh no..." Chloe said to herself. Fearing the worst, Chloe asked, "What year is it?"

Zack thought for a few seconds and said, "2014."
