Chapter 53 by airwreck airwreck

What did Veronica say?

The Asiate Restaurant.

"Let's have breakfast at the Asiate," Veronica suggested.

"Okay. We'll be right up. Bye." Ryan put his cellphone away and took his wife's hand. "We're going up to the Asiate restaurant to have breakfast." He punched the up button.

As they waited for the elevator car to reach the lobby, an old woman approached Marlissa. "I must tell you that you are truly beautiful, my dear," the old woman complimented, touching Marlissa's arm gently.

"Thank you," Marlissa smiled warmly, gesturing for the elderly woman to go first when the elevator doors opened.

"Other women must be jealous because I know I am. Are you a fashion model?"

"No, I am just a housewife," the statuesque redhead replied innocently.

"You should look into that, dear." The old woman turned to Ryan. "You are a very lucky man to have such a beautiful creature as a wife."

"Yes, I am," Ryan winked at Marlissa, keeping the truth to themselves.

"Do you have children? They must be gorgeous with such beautiful parents!"

"No children yet. We are newlyweds," Marlissa answered, giving a knowing smile to Ryan.

Ryan caught Marlissa's use of the word "yet" and it never occurred to him until now if they could have kids. Considering the amount of semen he had pumped into her he would be surprised if she was not pregnant.

"Oh, congratulations, my dear!" The old woman looked up and touched Marlissa's arm when the elevator stopped at the 35th floor. Ryan and Marlissa stepped out and the old woman waved at them with a grin, "Have fun with your honeymoon!"

"We will!" Marlissa smiled and winked at the old woman.

"No children yet?" Ryan wondered out loud when the elevator doors closed behind them.

"Yes, humans and succubi can breed," Marlissa said matter-of-factly, as if it was common knowledge. "We succubi consume the seeds of mortal men for sustenance or store it later for energy. But, we if decide to, we can use the seed of mortal men to impregnate ourselves."

"Have you had children with men before?" Ryan asked, realizing he knew so little about the physiology of the succubi. He never thought nor cared about her past mortal masters having sex with her until the subject of potential half-demon children was brought up.

"No," Marlissa said, turning to face Ryan with a reassuring smile. "I have never loved a mortal that I wanted to bear his children."

Ryan stood there silent. Marlissa sensed what was going through his head by the look on his handsome face and took his hand to pull him towards her. She kissed him and whispered, "Until I met you, my love."

"You're not pregnant, are you?" he asked when they finally walked towards the maitre d' standing at the restaurant entrance.

"No," she said with a smile. "Do you want me to be?"

"Welcome to Asiate," introduced the maître d’hôtel, saving Ryan from answering the question. "Do you have a reservation?"

"Our friend may have reserved a table," Ryan responded. "Veronica Auberge."

"Ah, yes. Please follow me."

The couple entered the restaurant and were amazed with the incredible tree-branch sculpture hanging from the ceiling, the huge wall of wine with over 1,500 bottles, and its five-metre-tall floor-to-ceiling high windows that offered a fantastic panoramic view of the New York City skyline. The middle aged man lead them to a table that overlooked Central Park. Veronica stood up to greet them.

"Good morning!" Veronica hugged Marlissa and the two women exchanged kisses on the cheeks. She hugged Ryan and grabbed his ass. "You look gorgeous in that dress, Sam!"

"Thank you," Marlissa replied as Ryan held her seat as she sat down. "Of course this dress was from your store!"

"I must admit I have great taste," Veronica winked at Ryan as he held her seat as she sat down.

Their waitress appeared and offered them menus. Ryan was starving and chose the New York steak and eggs. Both Marlissa and Veronica decided to try the Japanese breakfast with roasted salmon, omelette miso soup, steamed rice, and pickled vegetables.

Veronica waited for the waitress to leave before leaning over to talk, not wanting anyone nearby to overhear. "I had hoped you two would come over for dinner last night and stay for a threesome," Veronica pouted. "And then listening to you two having sex this morning got me even more hot and bothered!"

"So you need a cock?" Marlissa giggled, smiling at her husband as he shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

"Yes," the brunette grinned at Ryan. "I forgot to bring my dildos."

Luckily for Ryan the waitress came back with their coffees, saving him from a conversation involving dildos. "The view is amazing," he said, staring at Central Park and took a sip of his black coffee.

Veronica smiled at his feeble attempt to change the subject. "Have you been to Manhattan before, Sam?"

"Yes but very briefly many years ago," Marlissa answered, avoiding to mention she was summoned in the late 1960s. "Things have changed a lot since then."

"New York never slows down," Ryan interjected to make sure the women stayed on a subject other than sex, especially at a posh five-star restaurant over breakfast.

"After breakfast I'll take you shopping for clothes and make-up. Not that you really need anything else but the clothes from my store," Veronica suggested to Marlissa. "You probably need very little make-up. I'm jealous how flawless your skin is!"

Marlissa looked at her husband for approval. She had already spent thousands of dollars at Veronica's store and they will probably spend even more in New York. Ryan nodded, not looking forward to his credit card statement. Marlissa giggled and kissed him, "Thank you, honey!"

The two women talked about clothes and fashion until their food arrived. Ryan was famished after hours of non-stop sex, he attacked the steak while Veronica and Marlissa nibbled on their salmon and steamed vegetables.

"So why were you two coming to New York?" Veronica asked curiously as she sipped on her miso soup.

"I'm a professor of archaeology with Columbia University. I was going to check up on my office and maybe visit my parents," Ryan answered as he cut up another slice of steak. Marlissa's eyes flashed with surprise at the mention of his parents but luckily Veronica did not noticed.

"Where do they live?"

"Carnegie Hill," Ryan replied a matter-of-factly, smearing his toast with egg yoke. "A townhouse on East 88th."

"Wow, and I thought my parents were rich!" Veronica exclaimed.

"Well, my paternal grandfather made his money from Prohibition. My grandmother was smart enough to invest the family fortune into real estate. My father, however, didn't care about the family businesses of distilling or properties but instead got into astrophysics, much to the chagrin of my grandparents. If he hadn't gone against their wishes, he wouldn't have met my mother and, of course, I wouldn't be here today."

"So why didn't you become an astrophysicist like your parents?"

"Well, there aren't many adventure movies starring Carl Sagan or Neil deGrasse Tyson to make young boys excited about astrophysics," Ryan joked. "They were a bit disappointed but not as much when I broke off my engagement..." His voice trailed off, thinking about his ex-fiancée.

Veronica looked at Marlissa to see if she knew if he was referring to her. The redhead shook her head.

"Julia was my mother's teaching assistant at Columbia when I met her," Ryan said, looking at nothing specific out the window. "She's still there now. A tenured professor actually." He looked back at Marlissa, smiled, and kissed her on the lips. "But that's behind me. I'm happily married now!"

"Well, I'm glad you two are happily married because otherwise I wouldn't have met your beautiful wife and she wouldn't have bought so much in my store!" Veronica mused.

"Do not forget that my husband had sex with you and Beth," Marlissa intentionally said loud enough when the waitress came back to their table. "For hours!"

The young blonde waitress blushed walking into the conversation, unable not to glance at Ryan, who smiled back at her. "Is there anything else I can get for you?"

"Just the bill, please," Ryan replied with a polite smile. The waitress was already prepared and handed him the leather bill folder. Veronica protested but he took out his credit card from his wallet and handed it to the waitress, who processed it with a wireless credit card terminal.

"Shall we go?" Ryan suggested after giving the waitress a nice big tip. He pulled the chairs back for the women as they stood up.

"Do you mind if we go upstairs to my suite so we can freshen up a bit before we go shopping?"

"Sure," Ryan said, curious how nice her hotel room at the Mandarin-Oriental would be. The two women hooked each other's arms and chatted as they made their way back to the elevator. Ryan could feel envious stares at his wife.
