Fighter, Mage, and Rogue

As you climb back up the hill of loose rubble and ore, you hear a second, clearly female voice from above.

"Was that a trap?"

"No. My Trap Sense didn't activate. It must be some kind of Environmental Hazard. Probably something newly introduced in the update."

"Is the path still safe?"

"Let me go first. I'll scout it out. I'm the lightest."

By now, you've reached the top.

With a practiced swing, you hook the tip of your pickaxe into the edge of the hole and pull yourself upward.

"Careful, Pivo! Something's coming out of the hole!"

"I’m preparing Magic Missiles."

Your head rises above the opening in the ceiling—which is apparently the floor of the level above.

And you find yourself staring directly into the suspicious face of a halfling girl only a few feet away.

Behind her stand a human in heavy armor and an elf wearing a light-blue robe.

The elf raises her hands and begins gesturing.

The man catches her arm.

"Wait, Selena. That looks like a dwarf. Maybe it's a kind of Social Encounter. A quest giver or something."

"What kind of stupid encounter is that? A dwarf crawling out of the ground?"

Did she just call you stupid?

You've never thought particularly highly of elves. You're not entirely sure why. There simply seems to be some kind of traditional hostility between your peoples. But you aren't going to let that slide.

[Minor Grudge added +1]

But first things first. You're not completely out of the hole yet.

"Hey, could you give me a hand?" You ask the halfling girl.

She glances back to make sure her companions approve. Then she extends her small hand toward you.

Gratefully, you take it.

A second later, you're kneeling beside her.

Up close, you notice just how deep her bright blue eyes are. Her chestnut-brown hair is tied back in a braid, and her slender body is clad in black leather. As is customary for her people, she isn't wearing any shoes.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome. My name is Pivo. What's yours?"

You look at her awkwardly.

Yes.
What is my name, actually?

You search your memory.

Nothing.

You try again.

Still nothing.
