The voice actually stutters at first, and it begins later than you would have expected. "Th-The party has against all odds managed to break their way through the sealed door without the aid of a key, eliminating the need for them to backtrack to the other chamber, meaning they will never see what cool things were made for them. Instead they proceed through the doorway, and look upon the room ahead."

It isn't large. It's more like--

"It isn't large. It's more like a hallway, with only two doors to be seen, one at your left, and the other your right. Both of them have a number above them. Three. Right in the center of them is a metal plate carved with words. What do you do?"

You step up to the sign in the middle and read it aloud to the others. "Only up to three individuals may pass through each door before it vanishes for good. Plan your journey ahead wisely. Which half of your party do you trust to fight on their own?"

"A normal party of four would have to go at it in pairs of two," Xiaoqing says.

"Or one person alone, and a group of three," says Niki.

"That would be a terrible idea," Eva says.

"Well imagine if it were me, you, and Amara, and then Kyle went at it alone. Wouldn't you trust him to do that?"

"I mean, yeah. Of course!"

"But I would still feel so concerned for him," Amara chimes in. "My heart would worry."

"Either way, we have the opportunity to separate into two teams of three," says Snow. "That's much better than pairs."

You look to the others. "I think it's an easy choice. Just like you were saying, Niki. Take Eva and Amara. You've worked together as a team for a long time now. And you won't have to worry about me, because I won't be alone. I'll go with Xiaoqing and Snow."

Niki already has her hand on the doorknob to the right. "No time like the present. Let's go, girls. I'll make sure nothing even touches you."

"And if it does, I will be there to heal," says Amara.

Eva smiles wide and warm. "We're unstoppable!"

You then look to your two companions and nod. Everybody proceeds through their corresponding doorways in unison. Just as was said, when the third person passes, it disappears behind you, leaving only flat stone tiles with no evidence it was ever there.
