Chapter 10 by Cretan_Bull14 Cretan_Bull14

Stay at the lake or fast forward to dinner?

Dinner

After a while, the group of teens began to get bored with the lake and shifted back towards the cabin. As Gavin was the only one who didn't need to change, he offered to make dinner. Ashley and Brandon went off to their room for some more alone time. Victoria stayed out on the deck with Chloe. Kurt turned on the TV and found an old war movie he hadn't managed to see yet. Zack and Heather stayed in the living room for a little while, trading quick shots with each other.

“Did you enjoy playing with yourself down by the lake, Zack?” Heather asked while making a “jerk-off” motion with her hand.

“Well, I always said ‘If you can’t play with others, then play with yourself!’ Sometimes it’s the only way to learn good stick handling,” He chortled.

As he joked with his friend, Zack felt a little bit of a lump in his throat. He felt like there may be a possibility of something with Heather. He wasn't one hundred percent sure though. He had seen her tease guys like this before, just to walk away before it got serious. So he couldn't help but wonder if she was setting him up for a fall.

“Hey Gav, do you need any help in there?” Heather called out.

“No, I’m good. Salad is just about set, and the chicken is almost finished,” the young chef stated.

“Okay then. I’m gonna change for dinner. Don’t go starting it without me, Zack. Or else!” She warned.

“Or else what?” he shouted back from the couch.

“Or else, I’ll strangle you with my legs in your sleep,” the brunette giggled.

“And what would be the downside to that?” Zack replied.

“Believe me; it will not be quick and painless. My legs are registered weapons in three states!” Heather informed him.

Staying one step ahead of the girl, Zack ran his hands up one of Heather’s legs to her knee, and then back down the other.

“Yeah, but this ain't one of them,” He replied.

“Aaack! Annoying!” Heather shouted and then ran down the hall to their bedroom.

Zack and Kurt chuckled for a bit at her expense. Out of the corner of his eye, Zack saw Gavin sweeping up something from off the floor.

“You okay, Gav?” He asked, as he saw several glass shards being swept into a dust pan.

“Yeah, I just dropped a glass. Please, don’t tell Heather. I don’t want her to be mad at me. I’ll buy her family a new set when we go into town in a few days,” He said.

“It’ll be fine, dude. My family breaks so many cups and plates out here that they won’t notice one missing. Hell, most of the dishware that is out here is left over from the sets we've destroyed at home. If you can find more than three matching drinking glasses in that cabinet, then you should go buy a lottery ticket,” Kurt reassured him with a laugh.

Zack couldn't tell what it was, but he felt that what Heather had said about her cousin just wasn't true. Yeah he had originally come across as a pig when he first ogled the girls, but he had behaved himself since they arrived at the cabin.

“Just don’t cut yourself,” Zack pleaded, “Don’t know how good or how far away the hospital is.”

With that, Gavin grabbed a small, metal triangle from off of the refrigerator and hit the insides of it with a fork repeatedly.

“Dinner’s ready. COME AND GET IT WHILE IT’S HOT!” He bellowed.

Kurt was the first to sit, as he was only a quick vault off the couch away from the table. Next to arrive was Chloe and Victoria coming in from outside. As Zack stood to move to the table, Brandon and Ashley came out of their room, with both of them looking a little flush. Heather was the last to enter the dining room. Her attire, as usual, got nothing but stares from her guests. While the rest of her friends (save for Zack who had yet to change) had chosen shorts and t-shirts clothes to wear, she had chosen a new bikini top and a white sarong wrapped around her waist. Zack moved towards the hallway as everyone else sat.

“Dude, dinner is on the table,” Gavin reminded him.

“I’ll be quick. Kinda have to be since SOMEONE decided to take all afternoon to change,” He said, grinning at his roommate.

“That’s because it takes a lot of hard work to look this damn good,” Heather replied. Zack turned towards the room as she finished with “Zack, please shower. You smell like a fish!”

“Sorry, but you never told me you were a squirter,” he quipped before he disappeared.
