Moonstone Reveals Her Identity To Sue Storm

Karla held her as she came. The beautiful blonde's face a mask of ecstasy. Utterly relaxed. Trusting. They shared another stolen kiss. Moonstone licked her fingers, tasted their mingled juices. She didn't want to let this go.

"Susan," she said.

"Yes, baby?" Sue said as she lay with her head in her lover's lap. Golden hair disheveled. Utterly at peace with the universe despite her sin.

"I need to tell you something," Karla said. "I'm not who you think I am."

Sue's eyes opened. Blue eyes, that could be as cold as glacial ice. She stared up at Karla, past the villain's breasts, to lock their gaze together.

It was almost as if she was expecting it. Had she suspected? Or was this some remnant of her heroic life, this constant suspicion, this edge of wariness? No. Karla knew what it was. She knew that deep down, Sue Storm didn't believe she deserved to be this happy. There was always something that got in the way.

"My name isn't Karla Stone," the villain told her. "It's Karla Sofen. I am—I was—the villain known as Moonstone."

The little lines around Sue Storm's mouth hardened.

"Doctor Doom manipulated me into a scheme against you," Karla said, and her fingers stroked that soft face. "He put implants in my head. Wanted me to manipulate you. Break up the Fantastic Four from within."

A little muscle in Sue's jaw worked. She said nothing, but Karla could feel the tension in that naked body. With a thought, Sue could send an invisible spike right through Karla's brain.

"But I fell in love with you instead," Karla said softly, and her voice broke unexpectedly halfway through the sentence. Not a sob, but a sudden upwelling of emotion she hadn't anticipated. Her body began to shake. "Now he's pushing me for results. Wants you to have a big public breakup with Reed. Break his heart. And I...I can't..."

Sue Storm's gaze softened. The betrayal stung, yes, but the confession was heartfelt. Karla could feel her composure breaking. She was putting all of her faith, her trust, her very heart into the Invisible Woman's hands. Sue could kill her now, could arrest her and send her to S.H.I.E.L.D., could abandon her to a merciless Doom...

"All right," Sue said with a smile. "We'll give Doom his big breakup. But only because I love you."
