First day with the new laws - back to school

It was the first day of my last semester in high school. I had a bit of trouble sleeping. I laid awake thinking about both the first day of school after Christmas break, the new courses I will be taking and all my classmates. But most of all I was thinking about the new free-use law. People here were so stuck up and prudish things probably wouldn’t change at all. It would take more than laws to change the culture, surely... My dad didn’t really seem to care. Or if he did, he didn’t show it. My mom was atleast trying to hype it up.

“Oh, you are so lucky this gets implemented your last year of high school! I couldn't imagine my senior prom without the free-use. Where is the fun in that?” she had said at the breakfast table in the morning. I had blushed, not really knowing what to answer.

“...It just feels a bit…overwhelming. I haven’t… you know, before.”

“Don’t you worry sweetie. If you are anything like me, you are a natural.” She put a hand on mine and gave me reassuring smile. "You'll love it. I'm sure!"

I smiled back, but while I was a but excited about that this might bring, it all felt so uncertain. Will everything and everyone change over night? Hardly. People will surely need to try and figure things out?

"Is there anything you would like my help with?" mom asked. "Anything you feel like you need to know? Or something I can assist you with?"

"No... I don't think so. I think I know most of what I need to know... The rest I will figure out as I go along, right?"

"As I said, you will probably be a natural." she said with a wink.

I looked out the kitchen window. So far nothing seemed to have changed. People weren't fucking out on their front lawns. No one was sucking dicks at the bus stop. As far as I could tell. But it was only 7.30am, so far. There were a lot more hours in a day. And it was time to leave for school.
