The teacher hastily arranged her wardrobe, and the rest of the exam went without further incident. Or mishaps.

Jeannot was the last to hand in his exam paper. His hand trembled as he turned it over to Mme Chouchou. He glanced around insecurely, as if he didn’t know where to look.

With her empathetic nature, Mme Chouchou immediately recognized that he needed some individual encouragement to regain his confidence.

“Look me in the eye,” she told him. “You’re not a bad student, and you can master French with ease if you just put a bit more effort into it. I admit that it can be quite a challenge for the lips and tongue when you’re not used to it. But with regular practice, you’ll definitely get the hang of it.”
