Joining the fairy life

The next couple days were strange. Poppy kept insisting on him helping her go out into the gardens to look for ingredients for the potion she said she was making for him to “be a real fairy”. That thought was already a bit spooky, but venturing out where Lazaro might find him WHILE wearing such fluttery feminine clothes was even worse.

The other fairies still seemed a bit skeptical, though kind, and Kelly wasn’t used to everyone referring to him as a girl, but even still it felt good to not be completely alone. Turns out Kay was quite resourceful, building Kelly his own bed in Poppy’s house. Mina stared at him constantly, but Poppy just explained that the blue-haired fairy just got crushes on cute girls really easily.

Cecelia had been the most scrutinizing at first, but eagerly loved styling Kelly’s hair and, before he knew it, had crafted new clothes for him to try on and wear. Of course, not a single pair of pants, but even still a part of him had to appreciate the gesture.

“That’s the last thing we need!” Poppy declared on the fifth day, setting down the spoils of their walk onto a table.

The redhead fairy, Wendy, set down her book she’d been writing in. “Finally. I’ve been working on the proper component and proportion list so that we can get new girl back her wings.”

Kelly blushed at the way he was addressed, but he couldn’t argue with in. Cece had made him a spider silk white blouse that hung off the shoulder and left a space in back for “when her wings were back”. Paired with a somewhat short skirt made from the bulb of a tulip, and he truly only needed wings to fit right in.
