What's next?
Warriors And Cheerleaders
Emma POV
“God what a day.” Emma said, slumping back on the couch.
"Truly." Lena said, and sat down next to her girlfriend, cuddling up to her. Emma gratefully put her arms around her.
“Girl, I have no fucking clue what is happening right now. Are we gonna die?" Emma asked.
Lena threw her hands up in the air, shaking her head. "I don't know. I just work here." She joked.
Emma giggled at that. "Checking in with you, none of this is normal right?" She asked.
"I guess I've never been around anyone this powerful before. Maybe this is just what they deal with?" Lena suggested.
"At least I feel like we're on the right side. Gemma's really gifted and seems to be God's favourite.” Emma said with a chuckle. “And if anybody can change things, it's her. But having said that, I don't wanna see these people die."
"They're pretty strong, it makes me feel pretty not strong, and I agree. I don't wanna see anybody get hurt." Lena said.
"That's okay, we're just gonna hype up the team, and keep each other safe, and take it day by day." Emma said.
"Yass, we'll be the hot cheerleaders hyping them up from the sidelines." Lena agreed, giggling.
"At least until we can find a way to help. I hope we can." Emma said, nodding.
“You know, running now would be the smart choice.” Lena said.
Emma nodded again. “You’re not wrong.” She replied.
“And we’re not doing that now because…?” Lena asked.
“I don’t know, staying with these girls feels like the right choice. Normally my instincts are spot on, and I’m surprisingly calm considering the circumstances. Though I’m definitely concerned about Paige. She completely shut down, and I don’t think she has any idea how to handle this.” Emma said.
“And do you know how to handle this?” Lena asked, grinning.
“No, but I can be there for Paige and for everyone else when things fall apart. Actually, they’d probably benefit from hearing your stupid remarks to keep the vibes high.” Emma teased, lightly digging her elbow into her scoffing girlfriend’s side. “Plus!” She continued, batting away Lena’s smacks of retaliation from being elbowed.
“If my instincts are right, I reckon Mia could definitely use your support right now.” Emma suggested with a smirk.
Lena dropped her protest immediately. “Ugh you’re so right.” Lena confessed, hanging her head in embarrassment, her hair falling over her face.
“Oh, so I was right?” Emma teased, her hand moving to lift her girlfriend’s chin, winking at the brunette.
Lena said nothing, her blush intensifying. Emma leant forward, grasping Lena’s face with both hands and planting a kiss on her lips. “Come on, we need you to be the moral support.” Emma encouraged.
“What happened to being super hot cheerleaders?” Lena said.
“Okay babe, let’s go be hot cheerleaders. Boots!” Emma said with a laugh.
“The house down!” Lena agreed, giggling.

Gemma POV
“My vote is that we fight. I’m not letting that bastard kill any more than he already has. We have a chance to stop him once and for all before he hurts anybody else, and we need to take it.” Belle states firmly.
I nod in response. “Then we have our decision. We’ll be fighting on Saturday. We have 20 more days to prepare. Does anybody have any objections?” I ask, casting my gaze around the room.
Skylar and Elsa are both accepting of the decision, although Elsa can’t stop the worry showing on her face. I can feel Ivy is accepting too. Olivia looks a bit annoyed, but unsurprised. I gave everybody the rest of yesterday to think. I felt that we all needed some time to rest and sleep on the decision before us. Having done that, it appears that even though some of us have reservations, we are resolute as a guild.
“Then we are decided. That being the case: Elsa, Belle, I need to Observe you both. It’s a spell of mine that gives me information about your power level and such.” I say.
Elsa nods, but Belle looks more skeptical. “Is that really necessary?” She asks.
“Yes. I need to have an idea of what your strengths and weaknesses are so I can plan properly.” I tell her point blank.
Belle sighs in response. “I already told you I’m not taking orders from you, or joining your guild. I’m just working with you.” She replies.
“Whether or not you take orders from me or join my guild, you still need to work with us cohesively. We can’t do that if we don’t understand each other.” I state firmly.
The redhead rolls her eyes. “Fine. Do it.” She says.

I take in all the information with interest, my eyes widening slightly upon learning that she’s a trans girl. I file the information away for later, happy to have another trans girl around. Her stat distribution is really interesting too.
“You have the same build as me.” I tell her. She cocks her head to the side, not entirely understanding. “It seems like you’re a battle mage who favours speed over strength, and powerful magic.” I explain.
“That is an accurate description, yes.” Belle replies.
“Can you tell us what your abilities actually are?” I ask her. She sighs again, understanding that she has to reveal this stuff but not enjoying it.
“My innate ability is a natural talent in the arcane arts. I lack the degree of control and finesse that some have, but in return, my destructive power is increased dramatically. For whatever reason, the mana I use is red.”
“Most of my magic manifests as blasts of raw power. I can push things back and blow holes through things easily. I trained hard to pair it with these-” Belle continues, touching the coiled chains on her hips. “-to be able to rip through enemies as I want.” She sums up. “Can I see your weapon?” I ask her. Looking annoyed once more, she hands me the coiled chain.

I have no idea what most of those enchantments are, but already it looks like an incredibly powerful weapon, the most powerful I’ve even seen so far. I tap on the enchantment names to get more information about each of them, reaching each of them aloud so everyone is on the same page.

Yep, I’d say that’s a pretty powerful weapon. Holy shit that’s a lot of cool enchantments. I hand the chain blades back to Belle, having a new appreciation for her capabilities. “So you essentially just have supernatural control over this thing?” I ask for confirmation.
“Yep, it’s pretty sick.” Belle says with pride.
“Thank you.” I tell her. She tips her head slightly in acknowledgement. “And you’re okay if I use the spell on you too?” I ask, turning to Elsa.
“Yes. It’s important to know each other.” The tranquil blonde says.

Heh, Elsa Snow is such a cute name. “Level 38, with most of your stats in intelligence and spellpower. That does make sense for your skillset.” I remark, flicking the window around to her. She studies it with interest for a minute, nodding slowly. As she does, I open the next perk of the Gamer class, which has been available since the achievement I got this morning that pushed me up to level 120.

I nearly yell with joy when I see the perk choices. This is exactly what I was hoping for when I started levelling up this class. Something to make levelling easier. Dungeon XP Increase is out almost immediately. It’s potent as hell for sure, but it’s also boring. Incredibly boring. We desperately need more variety in the enemies we’re facing, and the types of dungeons we’re doing.
Therefore it’s either Raids or New Dungeon Types. I’m extremely interested to see what the Raids have to offer. Raids in games are usually pretty long and immensely rewarding, and that’s what it sounds like is offered here with that option. But as much as I want access to Raids, I feel like the new dungeon types benefits us most as a group at the moment.
Our biggest problem is a lack of variety in what we’re fighting and how the dungeons work. The dungeons we run through are fairly short, none over an hour long. And we have to do so many of them to level up. With new dungeon types, we’ll get some new variety in the types of challenges we’re facing, in addition to hopefully some new enemy types, and much higher XP rewards.
With that line of thinking, I choose New Dungeon Types, hoping that the Raids perk will be available next time around. With the perk chosen, I gather everyone’s attention to let them know the new dungeon types I have access to now.
I use this opportunity to inform Belle and Elsa a bit more about my powers, and the powers of the rest of the guild to make sure we’re all on the same page. Belle looks pretty interested at the fact that she’ll get more powerful from dungeons because she’s in my party.
I’m a little disappointed that Belle has refused to join our guild, both because I was hoping to become allies or even friends with her in the future, and also because I’m only one guild member away from completing the quest I’ve had for a few months now, requiring 10 guild members, which would give me access to another class level and a skill evolution point. Nothing much I can do about it though.
After some discussion, it’s agreed upon that Lena and Emma will stay behind, sparring with each other, while Olivia helps train them, and Elsa stays back to watch. For the moment, Emma is using a training sword and shield that we picked up on the abyss auction, while Lena is using her water magic. It’s not the most effective training method, but it’s the best we can do for them at the moment.
The rest of us will be checking out the new dungeons, which I’m a little excited about. That excitement is dampened by the knowledge that in 3 weeks, we’ll be fighting someone more than twice as strong as our strongest guild member. And for the sake of our lives, and the lives of those around us, we’ll have to win.
