Nana comes with options
"Don, you home?"
You turned your head to look at the front door as Marissa, your mom's best friend and your dad's surrogate aunt (which now made her YOUR surrogate aunt, you supposed) entered into the house holding a small 3 inch binder to her chest. It had been a few days grace that your mom let you settle in a bit to your new digs before she had latched on to your agreement and had called you earlier at work to let you know she was sending Marissa over to your house later on this evening to go over options. They were supposedly vetted by her but you knew your grandmother, she was definitely the genesis and indeed the mastermind behind the book of women. Something told you, as the woman sat down at the dining room table, that there were more than just the folder in her hands.
"Can I get you something to drink?" you offered and she smiled at you. From what you remembered as Tim, Marissa was a nice enough woman but she had always treated you a bit aloof, almost as if you were occupying space better suited for something. Or someone, you mused, as you went to the kitchen and poured her a glass of white wine and yourself a cup of coffee, preferring to keep your mind clear as you had promised to give it a good faith try.
Not even sure WHAT I am going to look at...a bunch of **** women? You hadn't even had a girlfriend before the accident and now you were supposed to look in a folder of available women scouted by your grandmother and hand selected for you to date, get to know, and who knows?
"I bet this was all mom's handiwork?" you asked as you set down the glass in front of her and slid down in the chair next to her. The woman just nodded without saying much, took a sip and nodded her appreciation for the wine, and set the folder down in front of you. "What am I looking at?"
"These are women that are in the local area, both in town and within a 25 mile surrounding radius. It's a mixture of people from church, from the community center and by word of mouth. Your mom started going through these people as soon as your divorce was finalized and each woman was checked out thoroughly." She saw the slight paling in your face and gently held your hand. "Don, don't worry. Each woman wanted to be included in your search, they volunteered. Your mom can be pushy but she is very respectful and wants only the best for you, okay?"
Not quite what I was thinking, you mused internally as you opened the folder and started to leaf through the pictures and bios for each of the women. Each profile had several pictures, name, biographical information, the standard likes/dislikes, and she had even broken down by job description and hair color. You weren't sure what your preference was but as you skimmed the pages, you noticed that the older you was definitely more refined than the Tim part. Ms. Card, the buxom blonde you had lusted after with Randall back when you were in high school seemed like a child now, very much preferring the late 30s, early 40s women you were looking at now. I'm a mid-40s man now, can't be judging on age.
After about 10 minutes of silently watching you and sipping her wine, Marissa leaned over and looked at you. "Well, what do you think?"

Author's Note: Each potential option Tim/Don selects will be added here, with each individual choice becoming her own thread. Tim is many things but he's not a player so each thread will have only one woman and involve one woman. Boring, perhaps, but easier to write.

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
