What's next?
Tim moves to his father's old town
You stretched your arms up over your head and let out a grunt, feeling the strain in your muscles despite taking it easy with the last of the boxes. Looking at the calendar on the wall, you felt a little twinge of nostalgia as you glanced around the living room of the small 3 bedroom that you were now the proud owner of, (all it took was my dad's ****, getting my brain transplanted into his body, and a divorce to earn me my first home...all by the tender age of 45.) The closing had finished about 3 weeks ago and after you had made the final arrangements, you had taken the first step in proclaiming the new bachelor pad for Tim/Donald Connors.
The divorce had been almost 2 years ago at this point in time, spending the most of the past year and a half living in your grandmother's house (your mom, your brain mused, though it was hard to erase 18 years of calling her "nana" to suddenly being called "son" and you calling her "mom"). After moving back to your dad's hometown, a decent sized town of approximately 9,000 near the lake across the country from your home, you had found work rather quickly in a small private firm. Once again, you had your mom to thank, as she had pulled church connections and got you in good with the owner of the firm. He was an elderly man who was one foot on retirement's door when you stepped in and the look he gave was one of sheer reverence when he saw your resume. It was a silent prayer you uttered as your dad's experiences and work history made it easy for you to settle into the job.
With a decent salary, good introductions through your job and your mom, you soon found yourself ingratiated back into the swing of things as "the Connor Son" as you were called had come home and settled (?). Plus, scuttlebutt being scuttlebutt, the word soon spread that you were single again after the divorce. You didn't remember much of the town save a few spots when you last visited but suddenly, you had nothing but invites and offers of going to the bar for drinks, golfing at the country club, and the like. You had tried to tell your mom that it was okay, you were just trying to get your feet back underneath you after Tim's **** and the divorce, all good sounding reasons in your head to avoid dating, all of which she plainly ignored.
"Oh pish-tash...you're a middle-aged man, single, and in good shape," she muttered and your aunt Gertrude, mom's older sister, nodded in agreement. "I mean, Jennifer was a good girl and it was a tragedy what happened to Tim...but you can't just give up on life!"
Seeing as nothing could dissuade her from the idea of hooking you up with an eligible woman in town, you just raised your hands to pause her before she built up a head of steam. "Once I get a place of my own, we'll talk, okay?"
Figures that you would close so soon on the first true property you fell in love with.

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
