Work life balance
"Where to next Spidey?" Hawkeye asked as the Avenger's quinjet powered up while he sat at the pilot controls.
"Just get to midtown and I'll hop out the back and make my own way." Spider-Man looked out the front canopy at the Statue of Liberty.
"Quite the sight." Captain America said from the co pilot seat. "Never get tired of it."
"Yeah." Spider-Man nodded his head. "If I didnt need to get to work Id stay and take a few pictures. But... y'know how it is."
"I could make a call, explain things..." Captain America offered.
Spider-Man began to pull his mask off, "Cap, I-"
"Are you unmasking? Am I going to finally find out who Spider-Man really is?" Ms. Marvel squeaked.
Spider-Man left his mask on as he turned to the teenager sitting strapped into one of the passenger seats, that he had somehow completely ignored. "How long have you been there?"
"The entire time. I'm sorry we were so late I had something I had to do at school. Cap had to pick me up from Jersey in the quinjet." Khamala babbled. "I know that lives were in danger but I promised my parents I would prioritize school over heroics as I graduate this year."
Spider-Man cocked his head to the side, "Huuh. Well. Thats good. You are.... more responsible than I was at your age."
Ms. Marvel squeaked in joy at being praised by Spider-Man.
Spider-Man turned back to Captain America who was had a small smile on his face. Spider-Man just gave him a shake of his head. "As I was saying. I appreciate it Cap but I got it. You dont need to help me deal with Him."
"Him who?" Ms. Marvel asked.
"His boss. Spidey's got a day job. And his boss is a piece of work. He hates Spidey's guts." She-Hulk sat across from Ms. Marvel.
"My boss loves me!" Spider-Man retorted
"Who is Spider-Man boss?" Ms. Marvel leaned toward She-Hulk.
Spider-Man turned and held out his hand, ready to fire a web blast at She-Hulk, "Not another word."
She-Hulk mimed locking her lips as she leaned back in her chair.
"But..." Ms. Marvel looked around and her shoulders drooped, "You arent unmasking."
"No. Sorry, kiddo. Give it time and maybe." Spider-Man crossed his arms over his chest.
Ms. Marvel pouted. She narrowed her eyes and leaned forward peering st Spider-Man. "I bet I could figure it out. There are probably lots of clues. I mean... just today I learned you have a boss who hates you. So your boss is male given the use of He/Him-"
"My boss is a woman, a she, a her, a lady, a dame. Yep. All woman that one. The womanliest woman who ever whoa-manned, she puts the femme in Female." Spider-Man talked over Ms. Marvel.
MEANWHILE AT THE DAILY BUGLE
"Joanna." Robbie Robertson leaned into the door of the Editor in Chief.
J Joanna Jameson sat at her chair behind her desk staring out her window, watching the skies. "What is it Robbie?"
"We cant hold the front page forever, Joanna."
"Peter will come thru for us, Robbie. I know he will. He'll come thru that door with something amazing. He always does. Probably after putting his tush on the line, getting way to close to getting that cute little tush shot off." She smiled slightly. "He doesnt let me down."
"Joanna." Robbie said in exasperation.
"I know. I know." Joanna turned her chair away from her window. "I cant say things like that these days. Sexual harrasment." She bit her bottom lip, "Even if it is an objective fact that Parker's got a cute little tush."
"Joanna." Robbie said crossly.
