Chapter 74 by Duskford Duskford

Does something of note happen during their hike back to the cabin?

Zack and Gavin talk about Chloe

The air of awkwardness between the three friends carried on to their hike, with Chloe too much nervous and embarrassed to talk to either of her two best friends. Therefore, she elected to walk a few steps ahead of them.

Once he saw that Chloe was at a safe distance ahead of them, Zack leaned in to Gavin’s ear. “Hey, did Chloe tell you about what happened between her and Kurt yesterday?” He whispered.

Gavin raised an eyebrow, wondering why Zack brought up the issue. “Yeah,” He replied in the same low voice. “She told me he tried to take some pictures of her with my phone.”

Zack nodded, so Chloe had hidden the truth from Gavin as well. “Well, she didn’t tell us the whole story,” He said and, at his friend’s look of confusion, he elaborated. “Kurt did take a few pictures of her and sent it to my phone last night.”

“What?!” Gavin exclaimed, making Chloe turn around and look at them weirdly for a few moments before resuming her walk.

“Not so loud, dammit!” Zack whispered, annoyed. “Those were pretty hot, but I deleted them, I couldn’t look at it without feeling weird, you know?”

Gavin slowly nodded, his mind flashing to when he thoroughly ate Chloe’s pussy the previous night, he was certain that he didn’t experience those feelings of weirdness that Zack was talking about. He wondered if it was due to him knowing Chloe for less time than Zack.

“She’s usually so shy about her body.” He commented.

“Exactly, I thought it was weird because of that,” Zack agreed. “Those issues she has with her body would’ve stopped her from doing it. I just wish I knew how she got it, she never wants to talk about the matter with me.”

Gavin suddenly remembered a conversation he had with Chloe and Lisa about two years ago, around the time the four of them became friends with Brandon and the others and Zack started to develop a crush on Victoria. The time when Chloe told them what started her body issues and begged them to not tell Zack. Gavin always disagreed with her on that, he felt that Zack should know, the guy was her best friend after all.

“Uhn, Zack,” Gavin started as he made a decision. “Do you want to know why Chloe has those problems with her body? I mean, do you really want to know?”

Zack frowned. “Why?” He replied in response. “Do you know something?”

”Here it goes,” Gavin sighed. “I do and Lisa does too, Chloe didn’t want you to know.” He said, whispering even lower now.

“Why?” Zack shot back.

“It happened when we were about eleven or twelve years old and back then, she became so shy about herself that she didn’t want people talking about it,” Gavin started his story. “Things changed two years ago, when we became friends with Brandon, Victoria, Ashley and Heather. Chloe decided to tell the whole story to Lisa and I, but as I said, she didn’t want you to know.”

“I think I’m not following you there, Gavin,” Zack said, confused. “Why did she wait years to tell you guys but decided not to tell me?”

Gavin took a deep breath before answering. “Because, Zack, it was Victoria who triggered all those issues on Chloe, they were in the changing rooms after gym class and Victoria made fun of Chloe’s bust, which already was slightly big for her age back then,” He revealed, looking expectantly at his friend. “Chloe then noticed that you were crushing on Victoria and didn’t want that fact to affect how you saw her.”

Zack shook his head. “Wait a sec, I don’t understand this,” He tried to make sense of what Gavin just told him. “They are good friends.”

“They are now, after Chloe got to know Victoria and they began to hang out,” Gavin said. “Well, not that they were rivals before, it was just that incident seven years ago.”

“Wow!” Zack murmured, a surprised look on his face. “I could never have imagined.”

“How do you feel now?” Gavin asked a little warily. “About Victoria, I mean.”

“Well, they were just kids,” Zack reasoned. “Kids do that to each other all the time.”

Still, he was a bit unsure, even if Victoria was a kid and didn’t know better at the time, whatever she said left Chloe deeply bothered, to the point of never wanting to show her body in public again. ”I think I need to have a chat with Ashley, it seems that there’s stuff about Vicky that I didn’t know about.”

“Another thing, Zack,” Gavin said, working out the courage to say what he wanted. He took a deep breath. “I like Chloe.”

Zack chuckled. “Of course you like Chloe, I like her too. We’re best friends, remember?”

Gavin sighed. “Not that way, I mean, that way too,” He stammered. “But in another way as well.”

“Another way? What do you… wow!” Zack stopped in his tracks when he caught on Gavin’s meaning. He took a hold of his friend’s arm, making Gavin stop as well. Zack looked at Gavin with his eyes widened like a couple of golf balls. “How? When?”

“I don’t know for sure,” Gavin scratched the back of his neck. “We just have been spending a lot of time by ourselves since we came here and, well, Chloe has always been the girl to whom I could talk freely, without becoming a stuttering mess.” He tried to explain himself, deciding to leave out the events from the night before.

“Wow,” Zack shook his head, a small grin forming at the corner of his mouth. “It seems like surprises are attacking me from all sides today.”

“So,” Gavin said, stretching out the word. “You’re not mad?”

“I wouldn’t say mad, I think I’m going with shocked,” Zack answered. “It feels like a brother just came to me saying that he likes our sister.”

Gavin groaned. “Thanks for the mental picture.” He said with a bit of sarcasm, although he felt touched that Zack considered him a brother.

Zack laughed. “Sorry, I was just surprised,” His laugh receded to a smile. “I could never have imagined something like that.”

“To tell you the truth, neither could I before we came here.” Gavin admitted.

Zack nodded. “Look, it can be a great idea and I’ll support you guys, should anything happen,” He said, and then his smile morphed into a wicked grin. “But you know that if you hurt her, I’ll have to find a way to kill you in the most gruesome way possible, don’t you?”

Gavin laughed. “Don’t worry, if I hurt her, I’ll find that way myself.”

Zack began to laugh as well and, before long, Chloe turned around to look at the source of all that noise. She already was several steps ahead of them and hadn’t noticed her two friends falling that much behind her.

The redhead put her hands on her hips. “Hey, if you two keep stopping like this, we’re never going to get to the cabin!” She chastised them.

“Sorry!” Zack yelled, before he turned to Gavin and motioned Chloe with his head. “C’mon, let’s catch up with her.”

Gavin nodded and they picked up their pace, joining Chloe before the trio resumed their hike back to the cabin.

Does anything else happens there? What about in other places?
