EPISODE 4: Casaubon has married Dorothea and they set off for Rome. On their wedding night, and on subsequent nights during the journey, Casaubon complains that he is too tired for sex but states they will consummate the marriage once in the heady atmosphere of the Eternal City.

At the palazzo they have rented, Dorothea is reduced to tears as she begins to realise that not only does Casaubon regard her as a servant but perhaps his masterwork is not even started.

Will makes contact inviting them to Naumann’s studio. They both agree to be painted by the artist who requests that he paints their portraits on alternate days. He starts with Dorothea who he sees as being remarkably pure and wants to paint her in her natural state. Eventually she agrees and poses for him in the nude.

The next day when Casaubon is sitting, Will visits Dorothea in the palazzo. She breaks down saying that she has a need for passion and Casaubon cannot provide it. Will offers to help her out. He plies here with kisses telling her how beautiful she is and sensually undresses her, caressing every part of her body as it is revealed. He goes down on her bringing her to the first orgasm of her life. He has brought a condom with him. She gives him a questioning look. “I’m an artist Rome. Things happen” he explains.

He sits in an armchair and she climbs on him acting against her nature with her abandon and they rock their way to completion. She removes the condom licking his penis clean and thanking him profusely. They agree that this was just friendship, but nevertheless Will feels wrong about being sponsored by Casaubon and says he will forthwith become independent.
