WWE Raw - October 16th, 2006 - Women's Title Tournament Four-Way

At WWE Unforgiven, the legendary Trish Stratus won the Women's Title for a record-setting seventh time in front of her home crowd of Toronto in what would be her final match as a full-time member of the WWE roster. Because it was her final match at the time, the title was vacated soon after, and a tournament to crown the new champion would begin on the September 25th edition of Raw. Former champ Lita won her first-round match against Candice Michelle, thanks in part to Edge serving as special guest referee (and giving Candice a Spear).

The second first-round match was won by Mickie James, defeating Victoria in a Lingerie Match orchestrated by D-Generation X, and the third saw Melina advance past Torrie Wilson in a Lumberjill Match. Unfortunately, the Raw roster only had one more female competitor: part-time wrestler, part-time backstage interviewer, Maria.

Would she receive a bye into the Semis?

Would she wrestle someone from SmackDown or a debuting Diva?

Would she wrestle Lillian Garcia?

In actuality, she would wind up in the "Second Chance, All-or-Nothing, Bra-and-Panties Invitational Challenge" alongside the women who had lost their first-round matches over the previous three weeks. And that's where we, the audience, come in.
