Anne responds: "It targets people you know in real life. And it is not just your contacts? Weird.... No one should volunteer. NO ONE!" The rest groan and look like they are going to call her Mom.

Bart reacts: "Okay then, Anne. Are you okay with us picking a random other person? We all know we all reeaaally want to see what that app does." Bart taunts her to do it.

Robin jokingly muses: "Maybe I should insist Pieter picks me?"

That was the last drop to push Anne to do it: "URRRHHH.... Fine, fine, I will volunteer. None of you actually wants to. And I know him well enough to know he will take responsibility for what he does."

Anne volunteered reluctantly. No matter what quest I pick, it should be something she wants to do. I select Anne as the target, and a new window pops up

I clicked it away. Her phone makes an item-acquired jingle. She looks surprised and says: "QuestLife app downloaded?"

"That might be the quest receiver app. The app that 'targets' have." I say out loud, followed by a whisper to Anne, saying: "I didn't know you were older than me." She glares daggers at me as we enter the restaurant.

I table the question of what quest I should give Anne. Robin mentions lifting you with one finger. I try to humour him, but that doesn't work.

"So one rule is to have a realistic quest. The second rule is that Anne should at least want to do it wholeheartedly since she is already the half-hearted test subject." Everyone but Anne nods and starts discussing, and drinking beer and wine.

After two rounds, at least 4 beers between Bart and Robin, a bottle and a just-opened new one for Roos and Anne. I didn't participate in drinking; I knew they would go too far.

Robin and Bart are getting impatient with Anne not picking anything. The guys start needling her again. Jokingly asking if I have more slots and if I shouldn't add them. Both of us are peeved with them, but they are right; We just ordered the third round of 5. "Anne, I will look to see if I have more slots if you don't pick a quest soon."

That pushed her to softly whisper into my ear: "How about a quest that asks me to kiss you with tongue?" And she swallows. Well, no one had suggested it. So at least it is something she came up with.

"Are you sure about that?" She nods fervently, and I write the quest down.

I glance over to her. She looks at the phone and looks it up again. She repeats this a few times as she thinks. She whispers: "Did you know the reward when you gave the quest?" I shake my head.

She kisses me. Her tongue enters tentatively tries to lure mine inside of hers and I go for it. I am inexperienced but from the way she is acting she likes it. This lasts at least for the length of time it takes Roos to fill and finish a glass of wine. As she lets go to take a breath, my phone buzzes, and her phone plays a scandalous "Oooh."

I smile and teasingly say: "You should have turned it to silent."

She glares and asks teasingly: "Mas, ter do you have more que, ests for me?" Wow, the wine is hitting hard now.

"Do you have anything you want to do?"

"No, silly Pieter, please just pick something yourself." I start thinking. Whilst Anne and I were kissing, the third round arrived.

I opened the app.

It is better if I give her a fun quest for me. Nothing sexual for now or maybe... No, I can always add more quests, right? I try to make a new quest. Pop up: "Quest on cooldown 10 minutes remaining." Welp lets check the settings, I guess.

Custom allows for a custom choice of colours for perk tree and other layout features.

I swapped "Name on the quest" to First name and swapped cooldown on the target quest to visible. The rest seems fine, let's keep it for now. That way, I will know and can eat in peace and see how that works when I get back.

In the middle of the fourth round, I feel my phone go off. I open it to make a new quest.

Anne's phone buzzes. She looks at it and raises an eyebrow. Thinks for a moment and leans in to whisper. "I have always been in love with you ever since we first met at the TUE (Technical University Eindhoven)." Our phones buzz, confirming to me that it is true.

I blush, my eyes go wide. Wait, did I get confessed to? Did I **** her to do so.... No, I didn't **** her; She could have picked any secret. And yes, she did confess. Okay, Okay. Wait, let's check her cooldown for the quest on this.

Quest Cooldown: 30 minutes.

Well, let's finish dinner. Or at least I would try.

Bart jumps in: "What did she tell you? Tell us!"

"No, I won't tell. It's a secret." I tell with a frog in my throat. "Let's get back to dinner."

Bart, Robin, and Roos light up. This is not something I want to deal with. Karma, I guess, for what we have put Anne through. Someone had to pay, and it goes to me. Well, let them needle me, I can deal with it.

At the end of our last round, none of us ordered a special dessert, and we headed to my home. As we approach my place and their cars, I hear a buzz from my pocket. I open the app.

"I will drive anyone who wants to be driven home. If you don't feel up for a drive, just stay at my place." Roos, Bart, and Robin raise their hands.

Anne pulls my sleeve and whispers: "Can I stay over?" I nod and give her my key.

After I have driven the three stooges home, all the while getting asked about what Anne whispered. I come home, ringing my apartment's doorbell. A beautiful woman opens the door in one of my older shirts. She says: "Welcome home, master. I hope you had a safe trip."

We head to my bed and we fall asleep next to one another. After a few minutes, I wrap my arms around her and pull her closer and start to use her as my body pillow. She is so soft and warm.
