Chapter 4 by Tyff Tyff

What's next?

An interesting dynamic

Brandi had been at the business for two years now and had been a partner with Jocelyn and Kari for about three months now. Brandi had figured out with the first few days that Jocelyn and Kari were actually a couple but did a very good job of hiding it from the public eye. Brandi had only figured it out when she accidentally caught them making out since they had forgotten to lock Kari’s door. Brandi dropped all of her papers on the floor as she stood there in awe.

“Uhh it’s not what it looks like…” Jocelyn said with a smile.

“How many times have I told you to make sure the door was locked, babe?” Kari said with a huff. “We are so lucky it was Brandi.”

“Hey! I can’t help that I get so distracted around you.” she said with a chuckle as she began to help pick up the mess of papers. Kari took a second to compose herself but also came over to assist as well.

“Can you keep this a secret from everyone?” Kari asked with a soft smile. “I would rather people not know that we are seeing each other. It might be bad ethics.”

“I promise I won’t say a thing. You two just owe me a dinner…somewhere fancy,” Brandi said with a wink.

“Wowww…I can’t believe you would **** us,” Jocelyn said with a fake tone of surprise.

“I learned from the best and I was thinking steak sounded great so I can get the full story,” she said with a wink.

“You taught her too well, babe,” Kari said collecting and admiring the designs. “By the way, these are really good, Brandi.”

Jocelyn was a woman of her word and took us to quite a fancy steakhouse. It was dark and felt intimate to allow for private conversation. They were seated in a nice secluded corner and Brandi was impressed that she really couldn’t hear other people’s conversations. Brandi saw how much the dishes cost and almost got up to leave.

“Brandi, this is my treat so feel free to get what you want,” Jocelyn said as she huddled close to Kari on their side of the booth.

“Ok so I want to know everything and I promise I will never say anything to anyone,” Brandi said in a serious manner.

“Brandi, we know you won’t,” Kari said with a warm smile. “So our story starts in college, we were roommates and both had boyfriends at the time. We were both very much into design but also into starting a business. We spent hours discussing our plans for the future and ultimately found just how similar we were.”

“Which this next part is crazy,” Jocelyn said nodding to the wine bottle that was being poured into their three glasses. “Both of our boyfriends were cheating with the same girl. We only learned this when that same girl was bragging to one of our mutual friends that she was shagging both of them in a threesome. So as luck would have it we both experience heartbreak at the same time. It was horribly fucked up to say the least.”

“Jocelyn was my rock at the time…she comforted me and kept me from falling into depression. I thought my boyfriend had been the one but I quickly realized that someone else had already filled my void and I lived with her,” Kari said giving Jocelyn a peck on the cheek.

“You were the same for me, babe. I focused on making you happy to not think about how everything I had planned with him was washed down the drain thanks to that skank,” Jocelyn said brushing her fingers through Kari’s hair.

“As you can guess, we found comfort in one another and one thing led to another,” Kari said in a respectful manner.

“Yeah we fucked until the early morn,” Jocelyn belted out. Kari poked her girlfriend’s side as Jocelyn had already had her second glass of wine somehow. Brandi was happily quiet watching her two idols be lovey dovey.

“Anyways…we made sweet love and never looked back,” she said giving Jocelyn a kiss on the lips. “That was seven years ago?”

“Indeed it was,” she said poking Kari’s nose. “Gonna plan on marrying this girl soon.”

“I’m still holding you to it, Jocy,” she said playfully bumping her shoulder with her own. Their food arrived as they all happily dug into their plates. The steakhouse would become a very important place where business was discussed as well as where momentous occasions would occur.
