Chapter 20 by fantaghiro
What's next?
the wedding
The day of Diana’s wedding arrived with a surreal weight hanging over you. The grand venue, adorned with elegant flowers and shimmering lights, felt both familiar and alien. You were a guest—not just invited, but woven into the very fabric of the event as part of Diana’s new life.
Sarah was almost gone now, the woman you had loved slowly eclipsed by Diana’s presence. Yet in fleeting moments—quiet, stolen fragments—you still glimpsed the flicker of Sarah beneath the polished surface.
Before the ceremony, in a secluded corner of the ornate garden, she found you. Her eyes held that fragile spark, a mix of longing and farewell.
Without words, you drew close. The embrace was both tender and aching—a silent acknowledgment of all that had been lost and all that still lingered between you.
In those precious minutes, the world outside faded. It was just the two of you—Sarah and you—caught in a fragile space where time seemed to hold its breath.
As the distant music began to swell, signaling the start of the ceremony, she pressed a soft kiss to your cheek, whispering, “Thank you—for everything.”
Then she stepped away, slipping fully into Diana’s role, leaving you to watch the woman you loved become someone new—while you held onto the memory of the love that had been.
The wedding unfolded with grace and grandeur, but for you, it marked the end of the life you had known.

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
