A lazy day for George
Break
George had taken the weekend off, not necessarily because he felt like he need the down time, but rather because he could not remember the last time he had actually had a whole weekend where he did not have to work. Brightsdale College kept him incredibly busy, but with Luanne as fresh reinforcement, some of the load had finally been taken off of his shoulders.
Saturday morning had been strange. When he woke up around 8.30, without the help of his alarm, he was suddenly convinced that he had forgotten to set it and had jumped out of bed in a panic. But through the fog of his brain slowly waking up, he realized he hadn't needed to set it, in fact, he could even crawl back into bed. When he did he found that his bed had become more warm and comfortable than it had been in ages and when he turned over onto his side and closed his eyes, he fell into a deep slumber.
It was around noon when he awoke again, taking his time to get up and at em. He showered slowly, humming as he finally did not have to rush. George made himself some breakfast and ate it sprawled out on the couch, his feet up on the coffee table. Eventually, when all his relaxing had found him twiddling his thumbs, staring out of the window, George had come to the conclusion that he just wasn't the kind of guy that could sit around and do nothing all day. With Lulu gone to work he did not have anyone around to talk to, so instead he grabbed his phone, deciding to scroll through his contact list in hopes of finding someone who might like to hang out sometime today. There were quite a few numbers from people he could not even recall and the odd few from women he probably should've sent a message to a little sooner. He figured there were bound to be some among them that did not remember him anymore either, or did not want to talk to him in the slightest. But, as he kept scrolling, determined to find a friend for the day, his eyes fell on a name that immediately sparked a warm feeling in his stomach. George smiled, clicking on the name and becoming increasingly more hopeful that they would be down to hang out.
