Chapter 34 by Verdant_Hatchling Verdant_Hatchling

What next?

Blood?

As Cassius was standing in front of the portal, its destination became apparent, and as he walked through it, a mighty door was before him, and before he could move, the obsidian door began to creak open, sending a shiver down his spine.

When the door finished opening, he started waltzing into the chamber. And as he entered, he saw a scarily large throne, with an equally fearsome being upon it. But upon closer examination, he saw two other entities.

One, a fairly weak seeming Fairy Dragon. But the other? He felt the blazing inferno of an Elemental, but inside of that flame, he felt both the heavenly flame of the Phoenix, and the sinister inferno of a Demon he had never even met. This confused him. The natures didn’t match. And the quantity was far more than he could realistically decipher.

As he finally reached the throne, when he was preparing to move, the mighty figure upon it began to speak.

“Hero of this world, I welcome you. What matters do you have to bring to me?” As the figure finished speaking, Cassius felt an insurmountable presence.

Damon was looking at the Hero before him, and after casting Dragon’s Presence, he hoped for a peaceful conclusion.

But that wasn’t what would occur.

The unknown Hero then proudly declared, “I, Cassius Dragonheart, shall slay a Dragon, and even greater, a Dragon King, whose very descent will bring about only destruction.” And he unsheathed his sword.

Damon, not wanting to resort to **** so quickly, tried to calm him down, “Sir Cassius. As you can see, I have already descended. Has there been destruction? Has there been unquenchable ****? Well, any more than usual, at least.”

“... It matters not. I… My task is to slay you, regardless of your intentions, and though that may be wrong, I must continue. Your fate has been sealed.” His eyes had closed when he began, but as he finished, his eyes opened once more, as he prepared for combat.

Damon, finally reserved to have to fight, slowly placed his wives to the side, on either side of his throne, as he stood from the seat.

He was still the size he had been when he’d been playing with Glacius, so when he stood up, his absurd form utterly dwarfed the Hero.

As Cassius prepared himself, his entire life flashed before his eyes, as his sword flashed to strike at Damon.

But it didn’t connect, it couldn’t, as Damon’s Omnikinesis wrenched it from his grasp and skewered it into a wall. Then Damon continued, bringing Cassius’s form to float at his eye level, pulled by the neck alone.

Damon, as he stared at his newest attacker, contemplated this world. He’d been attacked, and he’d seen atrocities, each committed by people who abused their powers.

So, why shouldn’t he?

As Damon continued staring, his view suddenly darkened, and he was overcome by an intense emotion, and while he wasn’t enraged, he was? And with the abrupt changes, an inquisitive nature appeared.

But it wasn’t healthy. His mind wandered over his skills, and he settled on one of his favorites, Blood Bending.

As his mind wandered, his gaze suddenly witnessed the skill level increase to a hundred, and a sinister gaze slid its way onto his face, his eyes a shade of black.

Cassius couldn’t breathe, his throat was being crushed by an unknown telekinesis of great strength, and as he tried to break free, he witnessed the once docile Dragon King’s eyes were covered in a menacing light.

As he continued his struggling, he felt a tingling sensation appear through his body.

Cassius brought his hand to his face, and all he saw was blood. Forcing its way from the seams of his skin, blood was flowing from them.

Damon, eyes an endless chasm of inky ****, increased the strength of the Bending.

And despite the lack of air, screams came from Cassius, and they were ceaseless.

Every drop which was wrenched forth slowly flowed into the Barrel, as Damon, finally finished pondering, had his sinister smile drop, as he burst the skull of Cassius Dragonheart.

Then, the headless form of the Hero slipped from his grasp, falling haplessly to the ground, not a movement in sight.

The hero who was sent to stop the Dragon King was slain.

What?
