Four arms forearmed

“Reculus staff?” Lavorra asks, squinting at the roll of parchment in front of her, sat cross legged on Sir Henry’s vacated desk.

“Got it.” Zeya’s voice echoes cheerily from behind a teetering stack of books, robes, cases, trunks, and magical paraphernalia.

“Magic rope?”

“Oh, yes.”

“Hm. Shape-changing potions?”

“Mhm! Out of blue though, which is a shame. You made an extremely cute Tiefling.” Zeya giggles wistfully.

“I did. This is true.” Lavorra sighs, tossing one page and picking up another. “I miss the horns.”

“I bet you do.”

“Shut up Zey. Do you have the… what does this say?” Lavorra frowns, peering at the list.

“Ring of translation.” Zeya calls, horns just visible behind the stack as she packs their supplies.

Lavorra wrinkles her nose. “How did you know that? You can’t see the page.”

“I know because I know what comes after shape-changing potions. Because I wrote the list.” She appears, the top of her head peeking out, eyebrows raised. “It’s also the last thing on the list, and the only thing on that page.”

“Waste of paper anyway.” Lavorra grumbles, balling up the parchment, and tossing it over her shoulder.

It doesn’t take long for them to gather their gear together. Lavorra stands in a fresh shirt, armoured with the Alraune’s gift, and a set of leather pauldrons and vambrace liberated from Sir Henry’s collection. Beside her, Zeya looks decidedly alluring in billowing silk harem pants and a tight bodice.

Shouldering their packs, they prepare to head out, destined for the Delwald, and hopefully an end to the madness surrounding it.

Lavorra spares a final glance around the study, more than glad to see the back of it, and puts a full stop at the end of her time here. She won’t let the memories haunt her. She does smile fondly at the painting of the ship at sea, recalling how its image stirred memories of both Zeya, and Kaliana. Wherever Kali is, she hopes she’s well, and looks forward to sharing stories of their adventures apart.

She’ll probably leave this part out, though.

Well, maybe not the bits with Zeya.
