The pirates actually come to attack the city!

It has been a few weeks since the riot at the prison and what is now remembered as the Revolution of New Rotterdam happened.

Due to the indiscriminate acts of firing upon the locals, the garrison became greatly distrusted and their numbers also decreased somewhat when the city's folks fought back while the remaining population in the city significantly dwindled. However, they are not the only ones who suffered from the consequence by violently suppressing the revolution.

The nobles themselves also lost of a lot of their properties due to the damages caused by the troops from the garrison and many peoples under their employments who are not actual serfs are either died in the crossfires or quit to find new jobs elsewhere like in The New Hague, the Axeman City and Port Williams.

The King himself, however, took the greatest hit because the suppression of the revolution iwth great amount of **** and brutality made him even more unpopular among the citizens of the Kingdom of Utrecht and his mind began to become more and more unstable due to his conservative belief that is clearly akin to that of Klemens von Metternich back in the 19th century that he always believed growing up and his stance against liberalism, which he had been taught to be a threat to his nation because it means given the executive powers to the peoples that he and many of the nobles viewed as uneducated people to make decisions to run the nation.

While all of these are happening, the members of Princess Sapphire's secret society convened at the estates belonged to a member of the League of Merchants, the one known as Hugo Jansen, on multiple occasions. During this time, they helped the Second Princess drafted the constitution to limit the reigning monarch's executive powers and to allow the civilians to get to vote who will be their magistrates from among the ranks and who get to sit on the Second Chamber that shall be formed if this constitution gets approved.

And as the Second Princess' secret society is preoccupied with drafting the constitution, the Royal Government is also being occupied with enacting the martial laws in New Rotterdam, issuing and enforcing curfews, performing the manhunts on the remaining escaped convicts that may now most likely being in the process of being dispersed across the country and also fortifying New Rotterdam in case of Noseless Pete's pirate gang actually came for **** after they received the confirmation that his niece and her crew actually escaped the city after they broke out of prison.

But since the garrison is now being hated for how they violently suppressed the revolt, most of these tasks fell to Magistrate Jansen and the law enforcement officers instead. And to distinguish themselves from the garrison's soldiers, they decided to be nice and polite about it and will only use **** if necessary. The only thing that the garrison's soldiers can do is to leave their barracks to hunt down the remaining escaped convicts since the Magistrate and his officers have to look after the city.

This also takes away the abilities of you and your companions to return to Axeman City because no ships are allowed to enter or leave the New Rotterdam due to the fear of being attacked by the pirates. So you, Brittany, Valeria, Rain and Elijah cannot do anything but sit and wait.

After waiting for a few weeks, what they feared is finally realized! Noseless Pete and his fleet actually come and attack the city! They began by performing a blockade at the port with the pirate captain himself announced that if his niece's "rapists" are not being surrendered to him to deal with, he and his men will barged in and find them themselves!

New Rotterdam's local military **** responded by simply open fire on them in order to intimidate them with the message from the King saying that they will not negotiated with criminals.

Angered, Noseless Pete ordered New Rotterdam to be bombarded!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

After a number of bombardments and destruction of some houses within the city, the pirates ceased firing and repeated the demand.

Later at night, you watched from one of the Azure Palace's balconies and see that the blockade is still there while also thinking back about the so-called revolution that occurred a few weeks ago. Then, you looked into the city and found that a number of houses and buildings that have been destroyed as the results of both the revolution and for refusing the pirates' demand for the first time. Seeing such a sight make you sighed in despair.

"Feeling bad about what happened?" Princess Sapphire said as she's approaching you while also carrying a light blue book in her hands. In response, you simply turned to look at her with the face full of despair.

"Believe me when I said this. I hated this the most. However, it is the only way to weaken my father's executive powers. Plus..." Sapphire said as she's showing you the light blue book in her hands.

"The Constitution is now finished!" The Second Princess whispered as she's showing you the book in her hands with a smile.

"But will your father approved of it? Considering his personality, I doubted he will." You said as you turned to look back at the blockade at the harbor.

"Not necessarily needed to be his approval. The Supreme Noble Assembly will sufficed. And considering the current circumstances, they most likely will be onboard with this." Princess Sapphire said with a smirk.

"How can you be so sure?" You asked as you turned to look back at her once again.

"Because they were clearly unhappy about the aftermath of the revolution. It was ultimately suppressed but so what? Their wealth have been looted by the rioters while their estates have been damaged by the garrison's troops and they are now also being subjected to the martial law like everybody else." Sapphire said before she turned around and leave you alone at the balcony.
