Ryan casually glanced over at the next table and the blonde and brunette smiled at him.

"Hi there," the blonde said cheerfully as she leaned over to Ryan.

"Hi," Ryan responded.

"Do you mind if we join you," the brunette asked.

"Not at all," Marlissa answered with a smile. The two girls brought over their drinks and sat down across from the couple.

"Thank you," the blonde said as she extended her hand to shake Ryan. "By the way, my name is Beth and this is my friend, Veronica."

"I'm Ryan and this is my wife..."

"Samantha," Marlissa lied, not wanting to reveal her true name to the mortals. "But you can just call me Sam."

"Sam, we just wanted to ask if you're a model?" Veronica asked shyly. "I'm jealous of your cheekbones!"

"I would love to know how what you use for your skin?" Beth wondered.

"Thank you for the compliment, girls, but I'm not a model," Marlissa replied. "I'm just a housewife who accompanies my husband on his research trips."

"Really? I could see you on a catwalk in Paris!" Veronica exclaimed.

"I'm an archeologist," Ryan interrupted, hoping that the girls would be interested in what he does for a living.

"You dig up dinosaur bones?" Veronica asked.

"No, you're thinking of a palaeontologist," corrected Beth.

"I study ancient civilizations," Ryan noted.

"Oh..." Veronica said, losing what interest she had in Ryan. He wondered if the girls were lesbians, bi-sexual, or simply charmed by Marlissa's supernatural beauty.

Luckily, the waitress broke up the lull in conversation with the Ryan's beer and Marlissa's wine.

"What do you girls do?" Ryan asked.

"I'm an elementary school teacher," the blonde replied.

"I work at my clothing store, Boutique D'Auberge, but I was once a fashion model!" the brunette answered proudly, looking fawningly at Marlissa like a younger girl would to an older sister.

"Are you with anyone tonight?" Marlissa asked. Ryan could see a flash of lust in her green eyes.
