Goth Girl Dates (Paige POV)
Paige was caught up in a hail of intoxicating emotions, and she loved every second of it. She’d already kind of been falling for Mia as they’d hung out every so often for a few weeks. The lithe blonde was just so outgoing and full of energy. Mia knew how to make Paige feel comfortable, her energy and talkative nature made Paige want to speak up more.
Then one day, Mia had invited her over. She said her and her girlfriends had found a new home and wanted her to join their guild. Mia had talked about it with her before, but it was a little out of the blue. Paige didn’t mind though and she found herself going to meet the partners of the woman she had a crush on.
She didn’t expect to like them all so much, but that’s what happened. Mia was energetic and outgoing. Skylar was reserved but caring and dependable. Ivy was loving and loyal. Gemma was passionate and driven. They all worked together so well, and they all shared this sense of love, happiness and peace between them, one that Paige really wanted to be a part of.
She had wanted them all from the second she met them. They were all ridiculously gorgeous and she wanted them to do a lot to her. But as she got to know them more and hung out with them more, she learned that she wanted to be around them more too. She had fallen for them all. She knew it was quick, she knew she was living up to the U-Haul lesbian stereotype, but she really didn’t care.
She’d made the decision to confess to them today. She couldn’t take it anymore, she had to know whether they wanted her too. She’d been giddy to find out that they did! Their response had been a little confusing at first, but as she thought about it, it made sense. They wanted her to make sure that she was sure about this.
And so here she was, on an honest to Gaia date with her crush.
“Whatcha thinking about?” Mia asked her, and Paige jumped slightly, jolted out of her introspection. She looked to the aeromancer, who smiled at her kindly. Paige smiled back. “I-I’m just…I’m happy.” She said. “Why’s that?” Mia pressed. “I don’t know how to describe it…being around you and the others just makes me happy…like you all give me butterflies in my stomach…” She said, blushing with embarrassment at the words coming out of her mouth.
The more confident woman giggled, and it was a magical sound that damn near melted all of her troubles away. “You’re too cute, you know that?” Mia said. Paige hid her face behind her hands, and Mia’s laughing redoubled. They were walking through the beautiful barrier that belonged to Gemma. They all called it home. Paige didn’t yet, but it already felt that way to her.
“Talk to me hun. What do you think of everything we talked about this morning?” Mia continued. Paige paused for a few seconds to think. “I…I’m not really sure how to say it. I-I’m kind of scared that saying it will make you all not like me anymore…” She said. “Why wouldn’t we like you anymore?” Mia asked.
“W-well…I know you all want me to think about this stuff a-and I don’t want to seem like I haven’t…” Paige replied. Mia smiled at her. “Just from you saying that, I know that you are thinking about it. It’s okay.” Paige smiled and looked down. That was one of the things she really liked about Mia and her girlfriends: that all reassured her and made her feel comfortable.
“I…I’ve thought about what you all said, and I like it all. I thought about it a bit and I can see why you talked about the things you did…b-but r-right now, I’m sure about what I want. The m-more I hear, the more I’m around you all, the more I’m sure that I want to be your g-girlfriend…” She trailed off, hoping her shyness didn’t stop her from expressing her certainty.
The aeromancer hugged her, almost seeming to read her mind. “Yay, I’m glad! We all want that at this point.” Mia said. “Are you sure the others do? L-like, even Skylar?” Paige asked. Mia smiled reassuringly. “Even Skylar. She takes a while to warm up to people, but she wants to give you a chance.” The athletic woman said.
That gave Paige a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. “Thank you.” She said simply, smiling widely at her crush. Mia said nothing in response and simply reached for her hand. Stopping before making contact and looking at her with a questioning look. Paige felt her face begin to rapidly heat up, and she simply nodded.
Mia took the terramancer’s hand in her own, and Paige felt her stomach flutter. Ohmygodshe’sholdingmyhandohmygodshe’sholdingmyhand!!! She did her best to stay outwardly calm but she couldn’t stop her face from turning red as a tomato. The aeromancer looked at her and giggled, her beautiful face the picture of happiness and affection.
They had walked in a loop around the landscape, and now they headed back towards the palace in silence. Paige didn’t know what to say, but she also felt like there wasn’t anything that needed to be said between them. Apparently Mia felt the same, humming softly to herself, a sweet melody of love and happiness. Paige felt blessed to be in her prescence.
Eventually they got back to the castle and got inside. Mia took Paige to the gaming room to go and see Ivy and Gemma. After some quick greetings and pleasantries, involving Mia gushing about how cute she was and Paige blushing heavily at the compliment, Mia departed with Ivy. Paige found herself alone with The Gamer, in the gaming room. Huh, fitting. She thought to herself.
Gemma had paused her game to talk to her. Paige wasn’t sure what game it was, only that it looked like a Lego game. “How was your date with Mia?” Gemma asked casually, taking a sip of her water. Paige’s face started to heat up and she started to panic. Is that what it had been? Had she really just had a date with one of her crushes?
Her eyes flitted nervously around the room, avoiding eye contact with The Gamer, and she chuckled. “Hey, it’s alright. We don’t get jealous here.” Gemma reassured her. Paige did her best to **** herself to speak. “N-no, i-it’s not that…I just…I really have a crush on Mia and it’s kind of crazy to think that I just went on a date with her…” She squeaked.
Gaia, the things that these people did to her. Around her other group of friends, she was usually much more confident and outspoken. Something about the four of them just seemed perfectly tailored to make her stutter, fumble and blush as much as possible.
“Oooh that makes sense.” Gemma said in understanding, giggling. “Mia is pretty amazing huh?” She continued. Paige nodded, smiling at the thought of her. “Sounds like the date went pretty well then.” The Gamer said. “It really did.” Paige responded. “Gaia that look in your eyes is so cute. I hope you get the same look thinking about me too.” Gemma confessed.
Paige looked at her companion, her face heating up once more. “Oh shit um…I didn’t m-mean it to look like I don’t like you the same way…” She trailed off, barely able to hold eye contact as Gemma stared at her with amusement and what she could only hope was affection.
“It’s okay you adorable human! Hehe, you’re so cute! I know you like all of us, you wouldn’t have confessed to all of us otherwise. I’m sorry, I was just teasing and trying to show that I like you too.” Gemma said. Paige smiled at her words, looking at the ground. “Can I hug you?” Gemma asked and Paige looked back up at her, nodding happily.
The Gamer wrapped the terramancer in a tight hug, and Paige hugged her back tightly, taking comfort in the warm and loving embrace. They separated after a minute or two, much too soon for Paige’s liking. Gemma looked at her and she could have sworn that The Gamer wanted to kiss her. Apparently deciding not to, Gemma looked away, searching for something.
Paige wished that Gemma had kissed her. She wanted to know what it was like.
After a few seconds of searching and absently stroking the kitten still curled up next to her, Gemma seemed to find what she was looking for. The Gamer offered her a controller. “Want to have a video game date?” She asked her, and Paige smiled. She loved when she thought about the fact that these were dates with the women she had crushes on.
Paige nodded and took the controller, holding the unfamiliar item in her hands. “I’ve never really played games before.” She admitted. Gemma smiled at her. “That’s okay, I can teach you.” Gemma showed her how to hold the controller properly and where all the buttons were.
After she had a better understanding of the different buttons on a controller (Gemma drew up a little map to stick to the bottom of the TV so she didn’t have to keep looking down), she started to learn how to actually play the Lego game that Gemma was playing. She ended up having a lot of fun with it. The game was fun, but the company for her, was the best.
